What kind of laptop do you have?
I'm looking at buying a laptop. What kind(s) of laptop do you all have? Which ones do you like best and for what features? I'm thinking I want to get something with a good-sized screen but really really lightweight.

sony vgn-s360:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...12652?v=glance I like small laptops but I have had some that are small but then you need to carry around an external CD rom and port replicator thing but this machine is just right it has the cd and all the usb fireware, wireless etc on board but its still small the screen is 13" widescreen so its big and good for watching films its got the xtra bright screen so its good for pictures as well if you are shooting I use it as my desktop at home just plug it into a monitor and keyboard |

I just got my brand new 17" Dell Inspiron 9300 yesterday, it's fully loaded with blue tooth, 256mb video card and all the toys
It's replacing my 17" Toshiba Satellite Laptop which weighed like 50 pounds and was certainly no fun travelling with. DH |

Fucking that Dell guy is going to be so rich, everyone has a dell.
I have a presario 2500 and it sucks. make sure and get a dvd recorder so you back up everything easily I have to have a usb hard drive for my backups. I think soon there will be a major change in laptops, like ones that you can change motherboards and hardware on like desktops. I am waiting for that to kick in for my next one. Also aluminum is very cool so for a laptop it's worth spending more for. |

Dell Inspiron 8500.
Have a couple of Inspiron 600m coming for my two sons. One from the ARS promo and one from rewards points. Likely to replace my Compaq desktop with a Dell desktop soon.

I think it is going to be a Dell or an IBM. I'm trying to, err, weigh the benefits of lightweight vs. screen size.

The 17" Toshiba Qosmio. I really like it, except it weights about 100 pounds!

HP Pavilion zd8205us Notebook PC featuring Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 520 with HT Technology
HP Pavilion Notebook PC (ZD8205US) ? Pentium® 4 processor 520 ? 17.0? WXGA+ display ? Hyper-Threading technology ? 512MB DDR2 memory ? Double-layer combo drive ? 6-in-1 media card reader Its not light though. But I like the 17 in screen and the number key pad like a full size keyboard. I use it everyday and I have had it for about 4 months or so. I like it. http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/HP-Pa...oductDetail.do
