    OKAY WHO IS SMART! Algebra problem....

    The number of wild horses at the Lazy Z Dudes Ranch could be found by counting them, but when Hank visits the ranch, he suggests that 23 fewer than five times the number of horses at the ranch is the same as 58 more than twice the number of horses on the property. If Hank is right, how many horses does the Lasy Z have? First define you variable?

    Lets see how smart you biatches are?

        5x - 23 = 2x + 58
        5x = 2x + 81
        3x = 81
        x = 27

                        Good answer - and I can think of a lot of smartass rebuttals, but as you're a lady I won't do

                          I use to do shit like this in my head.

                          i'd turn in my tests with answers only.
                          it pissed the teacher off, even though the answers were always correct, he'd flunk me anyway cause I didn't show my work... even though I sat not 5 feet from his desk during testing and he could see that i wasn't cheating.

                          I eventually told him to get bent, and transferred to another class.

                            Thumbler, we did algebra like that in grade 8. Seriously, it's not complicated stuff. I had to take calculus and trig and stats later on, so single variable algebra is nuffin.

                              You can count on me when it comes to algebra but unfortunately, I am not that good when it comes to reading comprehension.

                                Exactly. That's textbook. I combined steps 2 & 3 in my cyphering.

                                  Yes, but I was probably in grade 8 before you were born... in fact probably before your father was born. I did calculus and trig and stats as well, but it was a L...O..N....G time ago - doubt that I could do it now.

                                        No not at all, just pointing out that because it's such a long time since I did algebra I had forgotten what a basic algebraic problem it was.

                                                  I was helping my friend?s little sister with her math problem.

                                                  27 is my lucky number!

                                                  I didn't expect my known friends of GFY to show up. I thought all those little punks that talk shit all day would have had the answer. I guess they are dumber than high school.

                                                  So from now on lets refer to the high school students as elementary my dear!

                                                    Hey no sweat I am 18 years older than this whole situation.

                                                    I figured it out and I was blow away that I did. LOL

                                                    It's been a long long time since that practice. I was telling this little girl that maybe the problem in front of you won?t matter but the answer will. You will come across shit in your life (I didn't cus) that will suck. But you keep going until you get the right answer. THAT MY FRIEND IS ALGEBRA!

It's absolutely normal task for 10yo child here in Russia, but... it's very strange to hear it from an adult... IS the US education sucks soooooooooooooo much?

My son was learing the similar things in 4th class, i.e. when he was 10yo. It's absolutely normal task for 10yo child here in Russia, but... it's very strange to hear it from an adult... IS the US education sucks soooooooooooooo much?

My son was learing the similar things in 4th class, i.e. when he was 10yo. It's absolutely normal task for 10yo child here in Russia, but... it's very strange to hear it from an adult... IS the US education sucks soooooooooooooo much?
                                                                                                    Lol, I'm in community college and I STILL have to take Intermediate Algebra. I failed Algebra in high school and forgot how to do it (it's been a few years since then) so I totally forgot how to do it. Actually I think I failed all my math classes back in high school.

                                                                                                    I'm embarassed to admit I can't solve that damn problem on the first page. I hate math so fucken much. Those Russians are damn smart.
