Humbolts Area Destroyed By Hurricane Needs Help
I don't normally post here, or anywhere for that matter, but my friend who many of you old timers know.. Humbolt from libraryofthumbs who I've been doing some work for the last 3-4 years has asked me to ask you all for any kind of help you can give, I've posted this on a couple other message boards already for him.
Humbolt lives in Pineland Texas, just north of Port Arthur I believe it is and 30 miles from Jasper which you can read about the conditions in Jasper here http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...v=rss_business His area was hit hard by the hurricane the other night when it came through and I was talking on the phone to him when it was hitting. He was finally able to contact me last night after scrounging up a generator and siphoning gas out of his car to feed the generator, and powered up his computer and satellite internet up with it for a few minutes. The infrastructure where he lives is totally gone, they have no electricity, no water, no phone, no fuel, no nothing, it's back to the stone age, his roof is badly damaged and the house is so hot inside him and his family are living in tents outside. So far he says he has only received 6 bottles of water and a half melted bag of ice from relief agencies and they're running out of food and water. He wanted me to ask you all for whatever help you could offer and he said he would repay anyone that did help when possible. So if you can help a good bro out please do. Thanks for listening, thanks Lensman for letting me post this. Dave *Emergency News* Plea for help Devoted Surfers, I live in South East Texas where Hurricane Rita decided to do her destruction, A portion of my roof was carried away , a 60ft oak tree in the front yard fell inches from the house. With no power no water and no electric and none expected for a min of 3 weeks, my family is really hurting. The heat index yesterday was 104 and we have to stay outside in tents due to the house being an oven. I was able to locate a generator, but gas is limited as I have to use the gas from my car to run it and this will only last a day or so..60 miles to the nearest gas when gas does become avail.. Myself and two other families are going to try to rent a house somewhere where we can ride this out until all the basics are restored.. Please find it in your hearts to make a donation to help...$ will go to food and rent for 3 families...total of 13 ppl incl two very young children. If you can, Please donate to paypal account "[email protected]" Any size dontation would be sooooo appreciated. Thank you for listening... Sincerely, ................................Your webmaster, ...........................................~Humbol t~ http://www.libraryofthumbs.com/main.html also he has an epassporte account [email protected] |

My thoughts and prayers to him. So much of my area is still in the stone age from Katrina, I know what he's going through. Please send my best wishes.
