Sounds a little weak compared to the meaty thump of a golf club, but they can't arrest you for voodoo last I heard. Maybe I can pick up some road-kill to slip under his carseat too. I saw a cat on the highway yesterday; should be just about ripe by now.

The police are not pressing charges. They claim there "isn't enough evidence".


There's enough evidence for me. Now this guy has Hepatitis C so I can't just go over and kick his ass without risking infection:

Nasty disease. Fizzgig seems to have escaped direct blood-to-blood contact but if I get my hands on him there's going to be some blood flying.

On the other hand, I can't let this prick get away with it, and I can't let him think I'm afraid of him. Suggestions?

Sounds like the contributed to the problem, yes. That's different than it being her fault, obviously. It's called de-escalation. You practice it when you want to diffuse a situation. Making a comment on the way out the door is not practicing it.

There comes a point when you sometimes have to choose between being in the right, and getting out safely. Bad choice this time around. :2 cents:

She phoned me when things started heating up. She was waiting for me to pick her up THERE. Unfortunately I live a half-hour drive from there. Maybe I didn't explain things well.

Stop blaming the victim... No matter what should have been done, the blame for this rests entirely on the attacker.

Let's review the facts:


1. Drinking
2. Name calling


Ok, at this point, if I was a woman and I was around people who were drinking and someone called me a whore and/or hit on me, I would leave. I would go outside and either hail/call a taxi, or just get on a bus and take it to the nearest McDonalds or Wendys and sit inside with a coffee while I wait for my husband to pick me up. Problem solved, nobody hurt.


3. Slammed against a wall


Ok, at this point, I would be at the "fight or flight" response and I would either leave RUNNING out the door, or I would be prepared to yell/scream for help and fight back as best as a woman can.


So far we've had two opportunities to avoid taking an ass kicking. Your wife instead chose to mouth someone off AFTER already having been slammed against a wall.

All the creative advice here is amusing, but if you were to ask me what my advice would be, it would be this:

Confront the guy, call him to task for his actions, then kick his ass good. Wear gloves if you have to, and try hard not to let him hit you :D

And that should be the end of it..... other than strongly advising the wifey to stay the hell away from that kind of nutjob in the future. (and maybe not mouth off at them if ever in that kind of situation again)

Not saying it's her fault at all either, I'm just saying when you're already bleeding you don't stay in the water and taunt the shark.

This is a very recent, upsetting event. I don't blame you for being angry and wanting to take up for your wife. My best suggestion is to wait a few days, let things settle down. Get your thoughts into perspective.
