Of all the STUPID things that I've seen people try doing to rip people off, that's the STUPIDEST. Can you imagine the trouble that dumb ass got himself into ? Stealing content and selling it as his own to webmasters who are putting their asses on the line by using it. I know that I'd be thinking lawsuit if I bought something from him that he stated was his and come to find out, it wasn't.

I've just seen images that look like Viv Thomas, who sells via a broker I do business with.
We are both part of APIC.
If this guy is stealing any of their members images the site is history.
Well normally gone. They serve legal notice on the hosts and that does the trick. I think the billing company should also be informed.
We're amazed the site is stil up.

I've informed the broker and APIC lets see how fast it goes

Slick, he probably has not got any money. Could be a kid or low life with nothing to lose.
It's like getting a model to sign an exclusive contract. What you going too spend $10,000 trying to sue some one with $10

He's almost definitely breaking Federal law. This guy could do some time for this.

have just spent 20 fucking minutes trying to get to speak to some one at Ebay. This is a copyright issue. I'm not a lawyer and maybe we should be speaking to one. But i believe that from the time they are served legal notice they are liable for damages.
Any one know an ambulance chaser

I've just been told by Bruce the site is down.

Yeah, there is stuff from Ounique, Matrix, and three sets from Lightspeed. I know they don't have our permission to be selling it. I just got off the phone with Lightspeed's attorney....... Let the fun begin.

Get all webmasters whose content was stolen and present a class action suit. Stealing goods is one thing, selling stolen goods takes it farther. Technically, he could be liable from the time his domain went online.

Some one should serve notice on Ebay, this being a copyright issue could drag them in and thay could be worth going for.

Here's theie email address

[email protected]

You gat an automated response and when you phone them the girl just puts you through to an answer machine. Could be a newspaper article here.

Maybe im a retard and havent read all of this thread, but has anyone tried to contact PayPal and inform them that this person is selling stolen property?

The offending paypal acct is [email protected]

If so, any success? PayPal is hard to get in touch with, but here is some contact info, grabbed from a *ahem* fan site... paypalwarning.com ...

PayPal, Inc.

Palo Alto CA 94303

PayPal, Inc.

Omaha, NE 68137

Known phone numbers:

(402) 935-2000 / (402) 935-2001 / (402) 935-2062 / (402) 935-2258 [this is Craig, complaints resolution manager] / (402) 935-7733 / (402) 537-5740 (fax) / (650) 251-1100 / (888) 221-1161 / (800) 836-1859 / (877) 672-9725

I havent seen any of my pics on there but i stand behind all other content providers 100% on this. I fucking hate theives...

We have an account with Paypal and they should react. They uusually are very good. Some one put the facts on a fax and send it to the numbers. Mikey gave.
It's long distance from here.

APIC said;

His host's phone number is a fake. THe Upstream provider is a kid. ????
The registered domain owner claims he sold the site and to stop emailing
him????

On the top of the first page: "This web site is for sale. If you are interested, please e-mail here."

Does that leave any poor sucker who buys the site libal for receving stolen goods?
