Lamb of God

Is better than any band you like. Go listen to them now or forever be thought of as a pansy.

<Intro>
Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is

either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of

himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall

say to his assailant, "If I live I will kill you, if I die

you are forgiven". Such is the Rule of Honor.

<Verse>
Broken the paradigm an example must be set.
Invoke the Siren's song and sign the death warrant.
This is what has been wrought for 30 pieces of silver.
The tongues of men and angels bought by a beloved

betrayer.

<Chorus>
I am the result, what's better left unspoken.
Violence begins to mend, what was broken.
You've been talking, I've been all ears.

<Verse>
Words meant to dwell in darkness shall never see the light

of day.
Words can be broken so can bones, execute the mandate.
Mouth full of dirt your name is removed from the registry.
St. Peter greets with empty eyes then turns and locks the

gate.

<Chorus>
I am the result, what's better left unspoken.
Violence begins to mend, what was broken.
You've been talking, I've been all ears.
Omerta.

<Outro>
Cheaply venal, stupidly verbose.
A slip of the tongue, a slit of the throat.
Six feet under with no marker.
Keep my name from your mouth forever.
Free speech for the living, dead men tell no tales.
Your laughing finger, will never point again.
Omerta.
Omerta.
Sing for me now.

Check out "Vigil" off "As The Palaces Burn" - got it playing now. It kicks major ass at exactly 2:45.

Our father thy will be done.
I have denied this life its worth,
I will not be the victim.
Sickness to you my master,
Here's to getting worse,
Hope it kills you faster.
Show me how it hurts to rot from the inside out.
This vigil burns,
Until the day our fires overtake you.
Our father we forsake you.
Blesses be his name,
Nothing now the same.
Ask me why I hate,
Why I've prayed to see the nation that I loved disintegrate,
And gladly give my life,
That revolution regenerates.
In honor of the strife of those who've died,
In generations before your blood stained glory,
I reject you,
I deny you,
I defy you to continue.
Smite the shepherd and the sheep will be scattered.

Metal Heads Unite!

First song I heard from them was Pariah and it got me hooked.

I'm still more partial to Killswitch Engage.

Everytime I buy a Lamb of God CD it stays in my CD player for at least a month straight. I bought the DVD "Killadelphia" a few weeks back and have watched it at least 15 times. Badass.

I'm a big fan.

Funny thing. My brother has a death metal band, they're pretty good. So I was naming off a bunch of bands I like to see what my brother thought. Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, 3 Inches of Blood, Lamb of God, etc. Apparently my brother is some type of purist; his reply: yeh, they're pretty good, but they're all sell-outs.

It drives me nuts when people like a band and want to see them succeed, yet the minute they do reach success they're suddenly "sell-outs".

I always love the whole "what a sellout" thing
The minute a band gets paid, technically they are selling out...

Ask your brother if he's willing to always pay for free and never charge for single cd, tshirt or sticker...as soon as he says "no",laugh at him and call him a sell out ;)

The bands you listed there have recently restored my faith in hardcore music again. I love grindcore/black/death metal, but it is getting a bit generic lately...

Oh I am in total agreement. I have friends who bag on the "sell-out" issue as well. Like I give a fuck? I like and listen to music because I LIKE THE MUSIC. If I stopped listening to XYZ Band simply because I disagreed with something they believe or did, I wouldn't have any music to listen to.

I'm not going to waste my breath on my brother though. He's a college freshman who thinks he knows everything. ;-) Hopefully he'll get a clue soon enough, though I doubt it.

I don't think they sold out at all. The Killadelphia DVD documents them on the road and partying and hanging out and even kicking the shit out of each other in Ireland, they still seem really down to Earth. They're only sellouts in my opinion if they're on cereal boxes, video games, in movies and shit like that. Getting your artistry out to a broader audience is hardly selling out.

Lagwagon wrote a nice song about that:

Know it all - Lagwagon

Look at the world in disbelief
You used to follow - now you lead
College has enlightened you
And you are proud to be different
And like different bands - different types
You ain't nobody's fool
It's like certain bands remind you of someone you hated
'Cause they didn't wear the right clothing
And there's only one true fashion
Alot of the bands on the college charts are great bands
Until they get signed. Then you hate them
It's such bullshit - you used to love them you hypocrite
I remember you and I listening to bands that we liked
Only the songs mattered to you
But now you're a D.J. and preaching that hype
"Corporate Rock Sucks"
"You know, college radio enlightens you"
It's supposed to serve as a means to expose new bands
Without prejudice, but it makes no sense
Safe harbor for the underground
'Til the alternative becomes the popular sound
The bands are good 'til they make enough cash
To eat food and get a pad
Then they're sold out and their music is cliché
Because talent's exclusive to bands without pay
Know it all - Did you really listen to that song?
Could you ever write what you call wrong?

-----

and yes, Lamb of god is good...saw'em live again this summer..with unearth and some other bands....
check out unearth if you havent...they kickass

I don't know any of their music. But I've seen a few of those angst ridden, goth(ish) type kids wearing their tee-shirts.

They appear to be a trendy band that most won't remember in 5 years or so.

I don't think so. Lamb of God is pretty hot right now and has been for quite a while. I wouldn't be surprised if they start headlining bigger tours. I saw them a couple months ago with Slipknot and they were fantastic.

They aren't only hot with the kids you mentioned, they're hot with everyone. All over guitar magazines, shirts, etc.

Those kids are the ones who will forget in 5 years when a new "cool" band comes along. We call those kids posers. Losers. Bitches. Whatever.

I don't like Six Feet Under. However if they scare you, check out Deicide. But first look up what the word "Deicide" means.

Deicide = To kill a deity/god .... Deity + homicide = Deicide....
