It was a Klein policy to give any welfare recipient in Alberta a one way ticket to B.C. pretty funny imo

no the joke was that people from BC were flocking here and complaining about the low welfare rate and high cost of living,

what Klein was telling them to do is go back home if you dont like it here.

The problem with Alberta is there are so many uneducated rig pigs who didn't need to even graduate high school to get hired in the field, then worked for several years & now make huge money. People who would still be doing hard labor in any other province are the people with power here.

For the people who say Alberta is rich solely because of the oil, you should talk to any of the "liberal" programs that were slashed for years to try & bring our defecit down. Teachers, health care, social assistance programs - everything was cut. Now it's paid off & the money is starting to flow back in, but there are a lot of people who struggled during the "belt tightening" phase.

Actually Klein made that offer years ago before before welfare was cut in BC. Klein stated that if you want to live on welfare then go to BC and aparently 300 people actually went. The Premiere of BC at the time - Glen Clark - wasn't impressed but I thought it was pretty funny.

I don't really know what that means, but I'm sure it's something good. :)
