Wow, what a MAJOR disappointment, considering the original film is considered a classic. I liked the new extended scenes but the MUSIC ruined this film! It turned into an Elvis-fest, with the Elvis music chosen by Coppola as being totally inappropriate for most scenes. It seemed a scene could not go by without some Elvis track. Two glaring examples of this? The rumble----the music changed into a light, fast paced tune that someone would buy groceries to, and likewise when Dallas (Matt Dillon) gets killed and shot down by the cops.

Unbelievable mistakes by Coppola, ruining a classic movie with an ill-fitting musical score. I have yet to see the special features, the making of it and whatnot, but the extended movie was butchered by the music.

I know man, it was really disappointing. Maybe Coppola is an Elvis fan, but he shouldn't have indulged in it to the point of ruining this movie.

oh god, we had to read that in grade 9. I hated that book so much. Then they made us watch the movie. Hated the movie, too. And now it's back.
