if it aint made in mexico, usa or here, u gotta pay both duties and taxes.

they convert the usd to CDN then add duties which is a %. Then they add that amount to the price u declare and charge u gst/pst.

i bought 2 sneakers for 60usd and paid 30bux in duties/taxes

phone canada customs and ask
but yeah, long story short, if you're not picking it up yourself, you'll get hit with:
GST and PST, brokerage, and whatever the duty amount on it is (ask canada customs )

if you're picking it up yourself, you'll skip the brokerage fee...
If you get lucky, there have a been a few days recently where they've striked, and not charged tax or duty, but I think those days are over
I have a mailbox just over the border that I go to monthly

Here's an awesome trick.

Goto www.ecost.com and put something in the same price range and weight in your shopping cart. Click on the Canadian shipping button and it'll give you the itemized pricing of the unit which includes TAXES, CUSTOMS, and SHIPPING...

ecost uses borderfree, a service where the Canadian government collects the customs and taxes AHEAD of time from the retailer.

The pst tax alone would be way more then that... not to mention duties/brokerage.
