Creationism and Intelligent design are two different beliefs.

People who believe in I.D. believe that intelligent beings (Aliens, Gods or a God) engineered humans. In fact most I.D. believers don't believe in a afterlife.

Remember the formal idea of I.D. just showed up in books in the 1980's and only now has become popular. Creationism has been around over 2,500 years.

People who believe in Creationism believe that some God in a white robe with a big beard makes people and sends them down to earth.

If you believe some entity took a hunk of clay and molded all creatures in a day then breathed life into them you are claiming a theory far more difficult to swallow then evolution.
