No..But I am at home now and my upload is slow ( Adsl = a for asymetric meaning SLOW :1orglaugh ). It will take near 20 minutes to upload...
I have plentyy of bandwith available.

And I really wasn't here to piss him off... I just responded to Dynaspain requesting a test file... to compare.

This server is also a server that is " live ", i.e. has many sites on it

So wait, you run a hosting company and you work off an ADSL connection? Talk about redundancy. I hope you have a staff operating on a real network and not ADSL.

And it's even better that you "test" things on a live server with customers. I mean you wouldn't want to compromise your customer?s sites, would you?

Nothing new, just kids who buy a domain and resell hosting but act as if they own the DC and are CCIE.

If you're trying to say I have something to do with e5hosting.com then you're sadly mistaken.

FrankWhite 09-20-2005 02:36 PM

Doing a test of having 50 download streams at the same time on a box with gig-e, I am seeing the following:

Max speed for a single download:
e5hosting: 7.5 Mbits
pdghosting: 10 Mbits
xs4all: 3mbits (this is low because of extra latency between amsterdam and the US)

Max speed for 50 downloads concurrently.
e5hosting: 50 Mbits (Webserver seems to be on a 100Mbit uplink to their switch, with a 100Mbit uplink to Verio, normally running at 50% capacity)
xs4all: 150 Mbits (Probably could do more, seems to be either load balanced or a single server on gig-e, requires many concurrent downloads to get high throughput because of high latency crossing the atlantic -- US cablemodem end users would be unlikely to see high speeds from because of this high latency)
pdghosting: 10 Mbits (Webserver seems to be on a 10Mbit uplink to their switch - though they seem to have a gig-e to abovenet)

You are right . The port is a 10 Mbits ( this box hosts mainly mainstream low-volume sites ). Could be upgraded to 100 Mbits as the boxes for my members sites are...

But I forgot that Michele R think I host on an ADSL ...

Last Note: My mother tongue is not English, so yes I can make some mistakes..How about pointing to me the ones in my TOS and AUP...
I am doing the french version soon... you want to help ... you must be good at it ..

And I have a good idea who you are ... and yes, your boxes are pulled of the network on the 29th .

I did not challenge anyone to a speed test nor did do any bragging. I just thought it was honest to post some test files so that any perspective client could make there own determination.

Anthony

The title says "PREMIUM HIGH BANDWIDTH" and yes I can only admire the fact
that have test files up......so I tested. Then you get pointed out that you
might have a problem.....you dissapear. Most people who replied took the
time and effort to try the same and came with the same conclusion. It was
also pointed out that this doesn't have to mean that you are a BAD hosting
company.

Some of us have put up the test files aswell and give you pointers on where
might be the problem. Again this doesn't have to be on your side.....it could
be at 1 of the backbone providers your company uses or possibly a config
error in a switch or router.

But you decided to leave through the backdoor out of this thread. This
makes me wonder what you do when a customer has a problem. When
you don't know how to solve it......are you going to ignore them aswell?

I'm honestly looking for a hosting company....I have been following your
threads and tested your network on multiple occasions. I'm not a competitor
and I'm not here to bash you or your company. People who know me...know
that I'll never do something like that.

If I can be of any help I'll help....but also if I see something wrong I'll point
it out......then it's up to you to proof me wrong...or solve what's pointed
out.....that's the way it works. Whenever I am wrong...I'll be the first to
admit it and I'll gladly post that I was wrong and give you props for it.
Up to now you haven't.....so we're still waiting.....it's up to you how you're
going to get out of this.......as a solid company that solves any problem or
as a company that sticks its head in the sand when things get tough.

I have a lot of respect for you coming here and posting your results. I could not say on the board all day and watch the thread, but I will address the problem today.

?When you don't know how to solve it......are you going to ignore them as well??

We take care of all our customers 100% and I do not think you could find one thread or customer that has been unhappy with e5hosting?s dedicated or virtual service. Unfortunately for us a lot of our customers are not very active on this forum.

DynaSpain,

Are you willing to do this?

Outline a real thorough test to determine a hosting company?s network speed and I will give you a dedicated server on a 100Mbps port to use for testing?

I am hopeful Webair is willing to participate in this friendly challenge.

unfortunately anthony's right. i'm a very satisfied customer but even more inactive on the boards. it's been two months (already/barely, depends how you want to look at it) and support has been nothing short of great. goddamn, anthony woke me up the other day, calling me a couple times + email + icq regarding a problem that was already responded to by support earlier. i've never gotten that support at any host i've been with

good stuff for sure, but i wouldn't mind some extra sleep next time :winkwink:

ServerGenius 09-21-2005 06:05 AM

Anthony of E5hosting.com has contacted me and he will setup a box for me
on his network so that we can do some extensive testing. He will NOT pay
me for this....and doesn't require anything in return other than posting objective
results....no matter what the outcome will be.
