Lessons about Liberty: It costs $20 to learn what peace is!
"GEORGE GALLOWAY on Respect and the British anti-war movement"
I was kicked out by the cops because I couldn't afford to buy a ticket. They paid him $20,000 to speak - I guess the dove really needs his money. Those who dare criticize will be dealt with swiftly. |

Imagine that. A bunch of hippies demanding a protester be thrown out. The irony.
The worm turns. |

Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty, plus twenty bucks.

You were kicked out of an event because you didn't buy a ticket. Sounds pretty straight forward to me.

So tell us why you got kicked out then, if it wasn't for the lack of a ticket.

Ten minutes beforehand I listened to someone tell me straight to my face that they "hated america."
This was at a supposed institution of higher learning. maybe it was because i was wearing a MASH 4077 shirt? Maybe because i looked the part of what the stereotypes of a war-supporter might look like? Maybe I was visibly frustrated and upset with what had happened earlier, but not enough to disturb what was going on. Maybe just because people always need to hate and hurt somebody. The growing international hatred of America hurts and offends me. Freedom is a wonderful thing. It is the true opposite of hate. |

So they said they hated America. And then?
You still haven't got kicked out yet.

well and then i sat down to watch the introductory speeches.
there was a tribute to cindy sheehan and i got up to use the loo and i was asked to leave...right before the main speaker was scheduled to speak. campus security was called by one of the women who was organizing the event. i informed security that i was a deep believer in the cause of peace and could not afford to attend the event. if i can recall correctly, the protesters who interrupted don rumsfeld a few years ago at the national press club (?) speech were allowed to speak, and at least be heard from. as i understand it, some americans abroad are beginning to fear admitting their citizenship because of a growing level of hatred directed at the USA. |
