It sounds like a cool flick. I wanted to catch the original Italian Job one of these days.

the original was filmed (in part) about 2 blocks from where I lived.

I remember on Saturday morning I was walking to work and on the side of the street there were 4 or 5 cars scattered along the way sitting on their roof.

It wasn't until I saw the movie and recognized 190th St that I put 2+2 together.

Ok I may be dating myself a bit here but I bugged my mother to death to go to the double feature "Gone in 60 seconds and Eat my Dust" when it came out in the theater... Speed junky at an early age, now I own a Mustang... Go figure.

Yeah, I was just watching the making of the older Gone in 60 Seconds yesterday... how Toby just made it on the go. He heard about a train crash near by, so he grabbed the camera crew, raced over and wrote in a whole new scene and filmed it around the train wreck.

The whole movie was done like that... just making stuff up as they went along. Including the crash into the light post off the highway... that was a boo boo... but it looked great and worked, so they just kept on going.

Not only that, but no movie companies would distribute it.... Toby had to do all the marketing, distributing and everything else all on his own.
