I am looking for a programmer that can design a website that uses the same concepts as Yahoo Music and sites like MySpace. It is going to be a complex site, but here are the basics. I need users to be able to specify their preferences for different items. Based on what they choose, the program will recommend certain products by using the information the user provides, and also matching them with products based on others users' preferences. It is going to be similar to the technology that amazon uses. When looking at a product, the website suggests other products based on other users preferences for that product. There will be tens of thousands of products in the database, but we are looking into ways to already have that ready to just upload to the site. We need the main programming for the site. Again, it is very very similar to the concepts that Yahoo Music uses to created personalized music stations. I also want the networking that myspace.com provides. Please post an estimate of the cost. Once we start working with the numbers, I can explain what I want in more details.

Why do you think it needs to be a team of people? It does make sense because of the mathematical thought that has to go into, on top of all the coding. Is there any way to find out the person/people that did the coding for Yahoo Music?Comment

Team because, well, Ive been told that I'm extremely good with scripting languages and the C programming language, and I'm actually about 30% of the way through with coding something similar to what you have invisioned I'm guessing, and well, it's extremely hard to do this alone. This one can be done by one experienced person. It doesn't going to take months, the concept is fairly simple. But you must bump through major hoops to find such a person.
