what's up with calling girls in porn "bitches" "whores" etc?

i know there are plenty of folks who get off on roughing up girls and degrading them, but i don't think the majority of surfers have that mindset.

i own a whole bunch of tgps, and probably the majority of gallery descriptions i see are not uplifting to girls.

and submitters wonder why their traffic is off.

clue: lots of guys, maybe even the majority, actually LIKE girls and find these terms "bitches" "whores" etc. a turnoff, not erotic.

disregard my views. i am talking business marketing here.

This industry trend to out extreme each other is laughable. Sure there is a market for it, but don't forget.. most guys are happy to just see a nice set of titties.

I'm not big on calling girls bitches or whore. I'll call her a bitch if she is being one though. Same context as me called a guy a bitch.

Never call them whores though.

Good point, from a marketing perspective you do have a point.

There is a certain image and aura that the adult business has for some obvious reasons and some not-so-obvious reasons.

Because porn is a form of art, while some may disagree, that is exactly what it is. Just as acting and painting, and singing and magic, any type of expression for someone else's enjoyment as well as the enjoyment of the performer is art.

That said, it would be hard to take a middle aged white guy from Suffolk County Long Island seriously as a hard core rapper.

Would we take someone with no teeth, no education and nothing important to say seriously if they were running for President?

I think that if you try to class up Porn, you'll definitely garner a portion of the market, albeit a small portion.

Playboy is already classy and does a great job of honoring the woman while cleverly objectifying her.

It would be a contradiction to have it be hard core porn and have the guy treat her like he would his wife on their wedding night.

They feel the need to denegrate women as a whole because of their own fear of rejection and general lack of sexual confidence.

well you have a point. but that's not what i was referring to.

i'm referring to general characterizations of "bitch" and "whore" to describe what i would consider normal sexual behavior. sometimes i even see this description applied when it's just a cute college girl and she's in a split beav pose.

#1 it's an inaccurate description, and #2 from a marketing standpoint that guy that is interested in this sort of content doesn't regard this girl as a "bitch" "whore" or "skank".

i've even seen guys post met-art type images and call these girls "whores" in the gallery description. maybe it's a bot doing it, but it's crazy from a marketing standpoint.

For many years now I have marketed my content in a way as to not use any degrading terms for the models and I have found there is a very specific market for it.. I have worked it pretty well and have done ok..

That said, using the negative descriptions also works for people...

You just have to decide what you are going to do and how it is going to make you money.. who cares how others run their biz

The name should fit the scene and the audience.

Maybe he's saying the audience is tiring of the names of choice, and is preferring a gentler touch.

A little less "Who's your daddy" and a little more "oh yeah baby you know what I like".

Sadly, there are lots of people in the adult industry that are misogynistic or who put profits before people.

I try to create content that reflects my attitudes about sex, and since my attitudes are mostly based upon mutually pleasureable sex-positive fun, I never feel the need to post negative remarks.

If indeed our content influences people, then I hope my content influences people in a positive way.

Certainly many surfers are not into degrading women (which is why there is a market for softcore porn and erotica) and it is ludicrous to use very negative terms when marketing in those areas. But most hardcore porn is about degrading women (I have often wondered whether that might be its main appeal) and therefore language which debases them further is appropriate.

One does not have to degrade women in order to make lots of money in the adult industry.

People who create content which degrades women are misogynistic or else they don't know how to make money without creating such content. Either way, I feel sorry for them.

I may leave some money on the table by refusing to create degrading content, but at least my conscience is clear and I am not compromising my values and beliefs.

regardless of anyones morals, if there is a market for it people will try and sell for it. meatholes and facialabuse are popular for a reason. i wouldn't label people who try and sell that niche as misogynistic. sure some are but if it sells, most people don't care about much else. keep in mind there are also women who are willing and actually like participating in such content.

Nothing wrong with it, haha. My bf calls me bitch and whore jokingly all the time,
and I call him a bitch and hahahaha back.

Me and my female friends even address each other with bitch and whore and hahahaha... I actually think it's funny, I'm not offended at all. I call men whores and sluts too. Anyone who screws a lot of people is a slut whether they are male or female, it's a fact and not offensive.

Recently I was being interviewed for a North American radio show and my host asked the dreaded question, ?What?s the difference between a pornstar and a prostitute.? I hesitated in giving the standard industry accepted response; that porn is not prostitution. In the past saying the wrong thing could cost me money, put me out of work or cause me to be ostracized from my peers in the jizz bizz. However, things in my career are different now. My primary markets are the Japanese, Arabic and a little bit in the United States. And I almost exclusively use Russia women now. I decided I had nothing to lose and I spoke the truth. ?We are all hookers without shame. Including myself.?

I must defend my statement because there is a tendency for people to want to believe otherwise. The first argument comes from within the adult video industry itself. If you add the words ?Profane? and ?Cinematography together, you get the name of what we manufacture, ?Pornography.? Therefore creating porn is not without it?s risks. No one should ever forget that even in areas where prostitution is legal, the government and police are never our friends. The adult industry has to argue that we are producing ?art,? ?entertainment,? or ?it?s our freedom of speech/expression? or various other bullshit. In the United States it was about 15 years ago that making pornography could put you in jail for a very long time. In general terms this industry has enough problems without needing to say the word, ?Prostitute.? And the simple truth is if we didn?t cloud the issues many of us would be un-employed or working at a McDonalds.

The second point comes from much of the ?new? female porn talent. For a period of time many live in complete denial of the truth about who and what we are. James Digorgio (simplyjimmyd.com), an American pornographer and good friend of mine, explained it best about what goes on. ?The jizz biz is a bit unique. And, often enough, girls show up in this business looking for something that?s been missing in their lives: One of those things often seems to be a desire to feel like they belong to something? i.e., the kind of something that many people take for granted?. like a family. They also come here with stars in their eyes, hopes for a fat bank account, an eye towards having some good times.? To state in more simplistic terms, if you have fantasies about being seen as great actress and loved by many, it can be a hard slap in the face to accept the fact we, myself included, are just a common sex workers.

The last comes from porn fans themselves. People view porn in order to masturbate or to aid sexual arousal between 2 or more consenting adults. They watch us fucking and fantasize about being one of the people on the screen. Because society views prostitutes as filthy low-lifers, aspirations to be like us create cognitive dissonance. In layman?s terms; we must be something different or better than common hookers if we are something desirable, otherwise the fans would be lower on the social scale due to their desires, even if temporary, to be like us.

Now all of this might sound very negative but I have never believed prostitutes are filthy or something to be viewed with contempt. Neither will I forget that my own mother was a prostitute and she helped keep our refrigerator full and warm clothes on my body in the winter. (Remember Canada can be very cold.) As well, Veronica Hart, a porn legend and woman I continue to both respect and fantasize about, once said to me in passing conversation, ?We shouldn?t let our egos get too big. Yes I?m a whore. Now where is my fucking money.? My purpose here is to be honest and to bring to light something most people won?t. My comments will not lessen or change how this industry functions, because although all pornstars are whores, not all whores are pornstars.

K, I admit, even though I'm a female I get turned on by rough porn when the guy is calling the girl a bitch and a whore and slapping her around a bit and gagging her... I'm a rather conservative person, but I kinda like the degrading thing, don't know what that means psychologically. Perhaps I need therapy or something.
