Trader Vic's Restaurant - Beverly Hills
I love tiki bars - I fuckin love em - I love em so much I did a movie once called Fast Cars & Tiki Bars - a friend was nice enough to take me to dinner at Trader Vic's tonight - she knew I would love it - I had never been there - It is located on the corner fo the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills - I didn't try a funky drink because they are all made with rum - too sweet - we got some appetizers - I got the crab rangoon wontons and she got the egg roll - awesome wontons - I dont eat egg rolls but it looked good I guess - we decided to share everything for dinner family style so we could experience the different tastes - I ordered the chilean sea bass - she ordered almond duck - both were excellent - we also got the fried rice as a side - everything was awesome - I reccommend it if you are into the polynesian pop atmosphere - it was really a chinese place with tropical drinks and setting - I think it would be more fun to go there and drink instead of eat - everyone around us looked like real estate agents - I felt like i was in a country club - the pricetag was around $150 - I felt bad for my friend but she wanted to pay for it - she knew what she was getting into she said - It's really great to have good friends - I will take care fo her twice as much down the road for doing this for me - really sweet and appreciated. I can see why this place is a tradition and lasted long after mos tof the other similar places are long gone - good food and atmosphere.

Sounds like a great night out.
![]() ![]() I'm a sucker for Tiki Lounges...nothing better than feasting on some island cuisine while sipping from a tall rum drink with a paper umbrella in it - 'cept maybe doing the hanky panky beneath the tablecloth with a wicked wahine. Hang loose... ADG Webmaster |

Drive by unsolicited Trader Vic's experience....
April 24th 1999 I am in Trader Vic's having dinner with my date and in walks Hef with all blondes in tow.... after seated I walked up (body guards met me first as I approached) I asked to say hello to Mr. Hefner and was allowed to pass....I extend my hand and tell him my date is celebrating her 30th b-day and I ask if I can bring her over....very embarrassed she comes along with us and he asks if he can buy her a birthday drink...she accepts of course and we sit and drink a big drink with some long straws for about 15 minutes we did need to get back to our table and I didnt want to hang on tooo long and it will be (I am sure) the one and only drink I will ever have in a small setting with Hugh Hefner.....and I will forever remember Trader Vic's as the place where i kicked it with Hef... now back to your more regular scheduled posts.... |
