Ive slowed down smoking cigarettes alot (was 1 pack a day - now around 1 pack every 2-3 days), but still hitting the herb, and damn have I been eating like a friggen bull, at least twice as much as I used to.

Also decided to do some lifting myself yesterday, all upperbody, and my arms are so fucking sore! I havent lifting in quite awhile now :1orglaugh

I started jogging when I quit. That way I was too knackered to be able to eat most of the time.

Drink more water.

Of course I didn't.. quit on January 15th of this year and have gained 28 pounds since...

But I'm having surgery tomorrow and will need to be on a low fat diet for 6 months so I should finally take my weight more seriously and be looking decent by the new year..

Keep going strong on your quit!

friday is gonna be 2 weeks without anything bad for me besides a few beers.

I stopped smoking 10 days ago and already gain 4 kilos.
That's quite a bit and there are no signs of slowing down. I am very very hungry now.

If you want to bulk up and have AB's like hal, you'll have to take on a new way of life. Beyond rigorous workouts, and heavy cardio, you'll need to completely change your diet as well. :2 cents:

if you think your plan would work on a woman as well, let me know. right now im just trying to shed my pounds (1 hour of cardio, 3 times a week) and eating fruits & veggies 90% of the time, and low/non-fat the other 10% of the time.

i used to have abs when i was 16 from kickboxing everyday but since i stopped, i lost them right away. i was still skinny, but just lost the abs.

A1R3K is in the "denial" stage of this process...he won't gain weight, he'll just work it off, he wants to bulk up anyway, yada yada yada.

"Acceptance" will come in a month or so, when he finds himself on his fourth bag of M&Ms and it's not even Noon yet...Now THAT is the sign of an ex smoker. :winkwink:

you haven't met me i take it, i weigh 125 lbs and have never been over that in my life. oh, i'm 5'9"

no heavies in my fam either. none. some people just don't gain weight. i'm cursed.
