You are the " I would vote for Bush again in a heartbeat ".... :1orglaugh

911 tapes were released today. Mothers with infants needing a respirator and a mother in a wheelchair ... So they should have " walked down " the highway ...

If I was a right winger like you, I would fucking execute you ... you steal my air!

I guess that you must be pissed at the mayor, that failed to impliment the city plan for evacuation or to use buses to get the poor and the disabled out of the city..... He just left them there, instead of starting to get them out 3 dyas prior, as the plan called for.

If I was voting in the US Election, I'd have voted Bush over Kerry or Dean, but Clark, Edwards or Lieberman over Bush. What does that do for the mold you conviently think I must fit in to?

Bush is not a perfect President. He's not the greatest President ever and he's certainly made a ton of mistakes. Here's the kicker though, everything that happens that you don't like isn't necessarily Bush's fault. You're as blind and hateful as Rush Limbaugh or anybody else on the extreme right. See the Irony in you calling other people followers or barnyard animals? No, of course you don't.

You guys really crack me up. Anything from the Republican Party is propaganda but Democrats publish information. And you have the nerve to call ANYBODY Sheep? That's some funny shit right there.

How so? Because I've lived through a lot of hurricanes and I know how things are supposed to work with the local and state government?
Sorry, that statement doesn't make any sense to me.

The Mayor of NO needed to put down the hookah and help his citizens and he didn't. He didn't put the plan in to action like he should have.

2257-Ben 09-13-2005 06:12 PM

Trust me... it's not hard to drive a bus... I traded a computer for one back in 1989 and drove the fuckin' thing 2300 miles across the country... Albuquerque, NM to Waterville, ME... No, I never drove a bus before and I didn't have a class A license... I also had 6000 lbs of furniture in it. Top speed was 50 Mph and used a case and a half of oil... But I got there.

My point ? I thought it was fairly obvious from the words inside the quote marks..

IT WAS SLOW. The opposite of fast .. What it boils down to is . Could they have done a faster , better job ?. It's fairly obvious from the mere fact canadian rescue personel got on a plane days later flew on a regular jet, took regular transportation and managed to save people who almost certainly would have died... Anyone who can't understand that is just silly has a screw loose..

This is awesome. Are you upset that I can lay out clear, well worded and intelligent arguments while all you can do is spit Liberal talking points and call me names?

You'd like to think you're so very different from Canada, and don't need Canadians. Guess what? You're not and you do. My point was that I could be an American, without changing any of my thoughts or ideals. Then what I'd have to say would count because I was an American?

You're so well and truly owned in this thread you'd really serve yourself best by just not posting anymore.

Conservatives don't hate homesexuals. They are not racists. They don't hate the elderly. These are common myths planted by liberals for many years. Hey, if you say something enough, over and over, some people start to believe it. Jesse Jackson and his spinsters have played the race card at every available opportunity.

Do you believe in right to bear arms? Do you believe in limited government? Do you believe in strong defense? Do you want lower taxes? Do you believe in capital punishment for violent crimes? Do you think abortion should be used as a method of birth control? Do you think judges should uphold the constitution the way it's written? Do you believe in affirmative action, or should the person, regardless or race, with the highest scores or credentials be awarded the position? Do you believe the government should own and control major industries?

This is a start. Answer these, and I'll tell you where 'ya lean :)

Most of my values lean convervative. I don't agree with the erotisim beliefs. I don't think there is anything wrong with adult porn, or the dance clubs that they try to close down at every chance. As long as there is no harm to anyone, I think an adult should be able to do as they wish. I am dead against child porn. I believe in less government, and think it's the parents responsibility to supervise their kids against porn, rather than "more government" which means more laws telling us parents how to supervise our kids.

Thank you for confirming that you can not read.

Yes, if NOLA was in the top 20 it would be considered one of the bigger cities. It is not in the top 20 however.

Just because a city has an NBA and/or NFL team does not automatically make it one of the biggest in the country.

More like I don't care to read your links. Yep NO is one small town. Major sports often put teams in really small towns that's how they make their money.

The real tragedy is that people died because their gov. failed them. The president said he failed, but you just can't believe it. I actually feel sorry for you. :(

toddler 09-13-2005 07:49 PM

I wouldn't say it's wholly Bush's 'fault', but there is some blame to be laid there. If he hadn't been spending billions on a war that was started on known to be bullshit reasons, and had been focusing on what's going on inside the USA, things would probably be different. (yes yes, I understand the 'best way to get an economy back on its feet is a good war!', though I don't wholly agree with it, that seems to be the rational behind the current festivities).

So yeah, blame Bush all you want, but you'd be better to blame yourselves, as you voted for the guy. If he's not directly responsible for the aftermath of Katrina, his policies certainly are. Mike Brown is doing a great job of taking the fall for this, and he will no doubt have a wonderful consultancy job for someone like Blackwater or Halliburton.

What? Bullshit reasons? Did you forget the chain of events that lead to the invasion?

Saddam violated the UN resolutions over and over again for so many years. We gave Saddam chances over and over again to allow the UN in to inspect for weapons violations. He refused. War wasn't the first option.

What the fuck you expect us to do? Take his word that he had no weapons of mass destruction? Saddam didn't actually have a reputation for being an honest individual.

Also, let's pretend we never went into Iraq. Do you think Saddam still in power, that the United States would be safer today? Hell no. You know damn well that he would allow terrorists safe harbor in his country to plan future attacks against us and our allies.

The United States did what we needed to do. Protect our own, and put the terrorists on the defensive and on the run. They are looking over their shoulder every day, wondering if this is their last day. Their days of relaxing while planning attacks against us are over. We're on their asses!

Not really. I believe it should be a privledge. When the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution, they couldn't have possibly dreamed what kind of monkeys would run around shooting each other. It was written at a time when people HAD to take personal responsibility for their own lives. It was a matter of life and death. I don't believe that same sense of responsibility is present in much of modern society in the United States.

It's absurd that joe buckshot and his cousin who can't even speak their native tounge should be entrusted with the power to kill as a right. I think responsible gun owners should be allowed to own guns. I do think said people should be allowed to though. I find gun bans as restrictive upon law abiding citizens.

Yes on all points and no further comment required.

Quote:

Do you believe in capital punishment for violent crimes?
I'm torn here. I believe in capital punishment for violent criminals but the problem is in the falibility of the justice system. If you can get it right 100% of the time, then yes. Otherwise, I don't think so.

Quote:

Do you think abortion should be used as a method of birth control?
No, but I believe it to be more of a moral issue than a legal one. I do believe in a woman's right to choose, and on on a legal level, I think it trumps the moral argument.

Quote:

The Constitution was written long ago in a time much different than now. I think it needs to be interpreted and applied in spirit to today's times. I believe that's the idea of the Supreme Court?

Quote:

I absolutely don't believe in affirmative action.

I'd say I'm right leaning middle. :)

mardigras 09-13-2005 08:19 PM

Governor Blanco publicly announced that Mayor Nagin does not have the authority to order an evacuation, any such order would come from her. Take that for what it's worth in any blame assignment...

sacX 09-13-2005 08:20 PM

Of course it's silly to blame Bush for the entire response to Katrina, but to argue that the federal response was not slow is a bit of an uphill battle when he's pretty much admitted it himself.

um the weapon inspectors WERE in Iraq up until a couple of days before the war (they left when it was made clear war was inevitable).
