I can't believe the posts in this thread.

First off, kicking the shit out of him isn't the way. If you want to discipline a GSD, you put a pincher collar on for the discipline. You only have to do this one time and you have to do it right when it happens so he correlates it.

You've got to apply a full upward multiple jerk lift with it to the point that he is on his hind legs only and do the jerk up about 3 times. This action will literally strip the dominence from him to you.

One of my 3 Shepherds required this during his Police K-9 training when he decided to attack the K-9 cop that was his agitator when he had taken off the leather sleeve. The cop did it for me and it was hard to watch but I never had a problem like that ever again with him.

GSD's are extremely protective of their territory. Some are overly so. As crazy as this sounds, the best thing to do is to put him through a full protection training course. This will make him more aggressive, but he will be taught perfectly when he is supposed to be and when he is not supposed to be.

Whatever you do, don't shoot him. That's fucked up.

This is what a pinch collar looks like.

Anyways, I keep him locked up and if someone else lets him out in the house to run free and he sees a stranger he starts barking at them. If they try to pet him is when he bites.

if youi kept the dog away from people he wouldn't have had the opportunity to bite the little girl. that being said you should put the dog down. I would say take it to the spca but given the history they would put it down anyway. from your posts you obviously are not prepared or qualified to have this dog.

sad but true
