I found a Bearded Dragon a while ago.
http://www.loryntaylor.com/images/dragon10.JPG He had a boo boo and was on the skinny side! http://www.loryntaylor.com/images/dragon9.jpg.JPG I had no idea what to do with him so I bought him a cage. http://www.loryntaylor.com/images/dragon8.jpg.JPG And fatten him up. http://www.loryntaylor.com/images/dragon1.jpg.JPG He loved looking out the window. http://www.loryntaylor.com/images/dragon2.jpg.JPG http://www.loryntaylor.com/images/dragon6.jpg.JPG I even introduced him to another exotic animal that flew up on my porch, Fred! http://www.loryntaylor.com/images/dragon3.jpg.JPG I named him Ivan and I loved him a lot. http://www.loryntaylor.com/images/dragon5.jpg.JPG http://www.loryntaylor.com/images/dragon7.jpg.JPG But I am just not a lizard person or a bird person for that matter. I gave Ivan to a good friend of mine and she loves him very much! He is so spoiled and it makes me very happy. I also gave the bird, Fred, to another good friend of mine. Fred is very spoiled too and that makes me very happy. All in all I am not really an exotic animal person. They are a lot of work and time. I will do what I can for them if I find them but I will not go out and buy one. I understand that if I own an animal I have an obligation to give it the best home I can. A lot of people go out and get these animals and then find out they are a lot of responsibility and then either ignore them, not raise them right so they are not able to be given to someone else to handle. Or just let them go, like some one did with Fred and Ivan. It just breaks my heart. But such is life, I can only do what I can to make my corner of the world the best I can. |
Right now I don't have any pets, exotic or not.
For too many years I was doing the contracting thing, and never knew when I was going to have to hit the road, be out of town for extended times, etc. And that wouldn't be fair to the pet. Now that I'm getting all settled in California, maybe I'll have to find a new pet. But for now, at least in the office I have SPANNOW and SicOne. They are kind of like pets, but I do wish that they were housebroken. :Oh crap |

Quasimoto is no longer with us unfortunately, he passed a few years ago. He was fully housebroken and did not need a cage.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF IVAN http://www.domainstalker.com/ivan/IMG_2203.jpg After breakfast he waits patiently by the back door like a dog waiting to go outside and play. http://www.domainstalker.com/ivan/IMG_2206.jpg "Ohboyohboyohboy! I wonder what bugs I will find today!" http://www.domainstalker.com/ivan/IMG_2212.jpg He heads for his favorite spot in the garden to catch some rays on the warm rocks. http://www.domainstalker.com/ivan/IMG_2219.jpg When he gets too hot, he heads for the shade to cool down. This goes on for several hours, back into the sun, back under the shade, back into the sun... http://www.domainstalker.com/ivan/ivan-melissa-1.jpg After a hard day of sunning himself, he gets tuckered out and snuggles with his mommy before being tucked into bed. He loves to be held almost as much as he loves his garden. Yes, he's a spoiled little guy, but that's only because he's so damn cute and sweet! He's got so much more personality than I ever thought a lizard could have! |

I swear that little guy has more personality than any reptile. He just knows. You can tell by the look in his eyes. He thinks likes a dog or a kitty. I swear. No one can tell me any different! |
awesome pics everyone. I've seriously thought about getting some bearded dragons for a long time. I'm sure I will end up getting some, they are one of the best lizards to keep and have great personalities :)

it eats crabs, fish, snails, etc, it basically lives alone in the tank. well if he happens to bite you you sorta die in 15 minutes. its more deadly than any land animal. the octo has the same poison as box jellyfish, and if you know about those then its not good if you get stung. and the funny thin gis you dont even feel the bite until you lose your vision a couple seconds later. read this:
http://www.earlham.edu/~sheedjo/blue-ringedoctopus.htm not so fun. |
I had a gecko but he died a couple of years ago. He was a great little guy but would still bite the shit out of me if I reached into his aquarium, lol.
