Questions about entering the business ? Please help.

I have thought about this for a while however I am still concerned about some things I don?t know that I was hoping some of you could help me answer. I am considering getting into the business; I want to shoot films. First off I have had an idea of what to pay a girl to be filmed in a hardcore movie, I know it will vary from girl to girl and their experience, but is 2-3K a good ballpark price of what to expect to pay? Now do the girls charge per scene or per hour, or does it vary from girl to girl on how they charge? Also do I need a certain type of license in order to film and sell pornography legally? Bear with me on the questions, hopefully one or two of you will be my savior and help me answer some or all of these. This is what I am extremely stumped on ? distributing the videos. Now how would I go about doing this? Sell my DVD to a major company? Sign contracts with various stores that sell porn? If someone could help me answer that I would really appreciate it, I am completely clueless as to what I can do on that. Lastly what is a good camera to use, something under 10K preferably. If you have ended up reading all this please take the time to answer some, or all of these questions for me. Thank you.

Well I wanted some of my other questions to be answered first. So I could really consider how serious I should be in starting this. I was planning on doing that when I have made my final decision on whether or not to enter the business.

You find 2-3K too much money for a girl to be filmed? I wouldn?t want any medium grade girls. So 2-3K for a gorgeous girl would still be too much in your opinion?

I didn't understand this statement at all. So I searched the boards to see if it were maybe a slang internet word or something else, yet I found this posted by Gigabugbee

"The GFY History of Kyle Hoppes

a.k.a. kak_azn (Banned)

Link to thread where this was typed

So if you were referring to kak_azn as being me, sorry to disappoint you but I am not kak_azn

Wrong place to be asking this KBA!

First.. experience!! It's easy to wave a camera around, but ya want useable/sellable content. Only my experience, but ya also need an ample supply of talent - most of em are crap. And.. if you are in Houston - get a lawyer and go thru any aspect that may get your ass in trouble - also talk about model releases and implications of USC 2257.

But.. actually shooting and getting experience all round is prime!

I have also considered higher an experience filmier for filming. You are most definitely right with that statement, but one must start somewhere.

Wrong board,,,,

This board is not for asking serious questions, this board is gossip/spam/killings/fakingdeath/ and my personal favorite...

Relax time between uploading

Now to answer your question!

Get Attorney
Get Model Releases

by my domain contentproducer.com

Get good script
Spend 5k on decent advertisment.. oh oh oh and yeah,,, models,,, and and uh uh... how about a great niche.. I could use more Pregnant content

Like someone said... if you are new the to adult business - trying to get into the content production end of things is the wrong place to start.

The only one that could give you the guidance on all this would be an experienced content producer but I highly doubt they are going to spend all that time just to create another competitor for themselves.

You should focus on building sites, getting traffic, sending traffic to affiliate programs, meet people, learn more then perhaps one day you may want to get into producing content... possibly for your own sites or possibly to market as content exclusive or not.

Hit me up on icq 333485092 and we can have a chat. I have been teaching people who are new the adult industry the ins and outs and also about search engine marketing.

I hate to inform you but, I have no clue ICQ is. I am not, how shall I say ? computer illiterate? So please describe to me what an ICQ is and I will be more than happier to talk to both of you over it. I am assuming it is some sort or chat room on instant messenger.

You will end up in jail or quit after a month, I don't think you know what you are getting yourself into... for now I would start with something simple like selling leads to content producers, or perhaps offer to work cheap for some photographer untill you learn the biz...

Sounds like you should get a job being a grunt worker for a legit company that is already sucessful, has honest biz practices, and has a proven track record of making money in this biz. do you know how to edit video, upload content, design sites, edit photography?? if you do, then try to get employed by a company. It's not as glamorous or cool sounding to say you work for a company as it would be to be able to say you own your own company. But in the long run, it would benefit you more.

Keep in mind there are alot of things involved in being a webmaster or content producer. Lots of things that you would need to outsource if you cant do them yourself. that can run your costs up pretty high. Learn how to be self sufficient. Get good at doing video and photography. a great model can be made to look like shit in the hands of a bad photographer. and vice versa, an average girl can look really good in the hands of a good photographer. Also, you need to ask yourself if you are creative enough at doing script and text. good text will entice surfers to join just as much as good pics and video. for example you have a pic of a big boobed girl, and next to that pis it says.. "join my site and see my boobs", or it could say "like my big round soft boobs? imagine how they would feel if you could squeeze them and feel the flesh bulging inbetween your fingers as you squeeze them."...... see the difference?? you need to know how to make the guy really THINK about those big soft boobs.

Also site design is VERY important. you have to know how to design sites that sell. you would be amazed at how a site layout can sell a site, or make it fail. it needs to be enticing to a surfer, but dont give away so much that they can jackoff to your tour pages.

Learn about hosting and the different types, and what they cost. You dont wanna end up paying so much for bandwidth that it eats any profit you might get.

You need to have skill in talking to girls. If ya cant get the girls, you will have no content. this is alot harder than you think. however it can be done. people like my boss jayman and others like aaronm for exmple have honed thier skills to the point that it is almost unfair to the girl, because you know they will persuade her into it.

most importantly, your name is the most important thing you will ever have in this biz. I am nobody right now myself, but because of who i work for, I have a great opportunity to get my name out there. you have to be honest, and hard working. all too often on here i see someone who is pissed at so-n-so because they cheated them out of something or is too lazy to get people what they need after they have collected the check for thier services.

Make sure that if you tell someone that you will do something for them, that you actually do it. and do it on time. don't cheat people on shit to make a few extra bucks. that shit will bite you in the ass later on down the road. If you wanna make it in this biz, then accept the fact that there are already people in this game that can make you or break you. Be honest in all your dealings with people. all those big time players will be more willing to help you if they know you are an honest legit person. If people dont want to do any dealings with you due to a bad rep, then you will fail. This industry has been here long enuff that it is now an issue of established people helping you to succeed. Without thier help, it wont happen for you..... Oh yeah, you gotta be willing to work at this like its a real job. If you cant motivate yourself do put in the work, then you are wasting your time... I'm just a noobie myself, and dont really claim to know alot yet. but i will get there someday.... I hope this helped you some.

Yep. Know the local laws re content production. The Miller v California standard is a LOCAL standard. So know your local laws. Also, laws regarding RELEASES vary from one jurisdiction to another. Then there's 2257, you need to be square on that as well.

The smartest thing you can do is find someone whose been in the business for awhile and work for them. Learn the ropes. That way when you start off your company, you're going to start things off right.

Otherwise you're just going to crash and burn.
