Aaron's shot of the model in the jacuzzi is top shelf for the web. Vibrant, nicely balanced and more than appropriate for any site out there. Hell, if you're a lunatic, photoshop it until you're blue in the face, but for my money, the photographer who delivers the quality I need without trying to tell me what I need is the guy or gal I do business with.

This isn't the Playb0y centerfold here in large format. It's the web, stupid, and those two guys know how to do it without coming off sounding like pompous asses and even try to HELP others in the process.

Well actually I wanted this for web contents.
I guess I can live with the quality of pic this takes for now since I don't have 5,000 to spend on a cam.

i would suggest an olympus or a mavica and a good 3 light tripod set with reflectors.

the light set should run you around $200 - $300, and the camera around $800. you will get AMAZING quality photos due to the lighting.

i have a novatron lighting kit sitting in the closet, and my partner has the d1, but i started out with an olympus then to the mavica and i noticed with good lighting, i didn't have to spend alot to get a very professional looking high res. photo

just improve your lighting by getting a cheap lighting kit, you will see the difference...

For only web stuff, you do not need to spend so much.
Just be awarethe Olympus is slow and this can take a bit of the instantaneuos effect out of the shoot, which for "Amateur, teen, girl next door, is needed.
Models et pissed off when they are enjoyin posing and you have to stop every 6 pictures waiting for the damn camera to download. For the same reason get a disc big enough to handle the entire set. Don't want to stop in the middle of a set to upload onto your laptop.

olympus is quite fast these days actually
even the downloading of pictures to your computer... buy one of those "dazzle" accessories to make the imgs download faster.

the dazzle accessory is like $20 and it downloads the imgs from your cam to your comp in like 5 seconds LOL

I shoot with nothing less than a 64mb card these days. The only time my camera is slow is when the batteries are low. Other than that, I can shoot plenty fast to keep up with the girlies.

I fixed the battery issue by purchasing a couple of external battery packs that will last me for about 1000 shots each. I was amazed at the battery life of those suckers but you want to leave them charging for at least 24 hours to get full usage.

I tried the Olympus 10 & 20 in a professional shop and both would stop after 6 shots for 15 seconds to load the images from the camera memory to the disc. No matter what setting we had the camera on, did the guy not know what he was doing?

Also a couple of other pro photographers in Prague bought the O-20 and they said it slowed down even more at the end of the day, which I suppose could be the battery.

I would love to buy two for the net piictures and stop all this F***ing scanning.

If you want a good digital image remember it gives a flatter image than film, so overlight the rear of the model by half a stop minimum.

The beauty of digital is you can see what you are getting, before you commit to spend money. Shot a boy girl set just before Xmas, cost $1300. Got it back from the processors and found one of THE main lights is not firing consistant when it did fire.

But I do know how to take a picture. If you are big enough to get past my "attitude" you could learn something. Remember you did not have to be mates with a teacher to learn. Or be drinking buddies with a supplier, who can supply the right goods.

I never said I use the Olympus, in fact, I do not like them much myself and most of them use smart media which I am not a fan of.

Most of my teachers sucked. I dropped out of high school and was over halfway through a degree in Photojournalism by the time my friends were graduating. I will not do business with a supplier who is a jackass. I will pay more to get better service any day of the week. In the Internet world people are more likely to call you out if you are full of shit or a bad businessman. Most people in the real world will avoid a face to face altercation but not so on the Internet.

:) cool - seriously.. it's a VERY good camera for the money.. it's what i'd get in that price range (not that that means fuck all)

I thought you did say that you used the Olympus, you replied to my post aboout it being slow.
After trying it in the shop I thought it was useless.

I am discovering on the internet the main difference is some people do tend to buy from people they "like" It will change, the market is going through a tough time and the only way to survive is quality/traffic/price/service
A paysite member today is looking for a "quick fix" and does not know/care if the webmaster/supplier can talk to each other or in love with each other.
That the web will learn, in all the years I've been doing this I've only taken two editors "out for a beer" They do not want to we do not need to. It's only about the content no one should buy for any other reason.
I suppose that is why we survive in that market.

You may be right about things changing on the net but I would not hold my breath if I were you.

It is in our best interest to make friends in this business. One thing I will never do is kiss sombody's ass though. In case you have not noticed, I will jump all over your shit if you fuck up IMO, no matter who you are or who you think you are. I fight for what I believe is right, I give my customers what they expect and more in some cases, and I respect everybody until they try to fuck me over. People see this and it seems to be working well for me.

As for holding my breath we think it's changing faster than that. It's a new and the fastest market ever invented. You can lose or make half a million in a matter of months. This excludes gambling and stock exchanges.
And every one is telling us it's hard now on the net. We have nothing to compare it with as we've only been here 8/9 months but you and I would not be here if we weren't makiing good money.
But it has to be a soft market if taxes and the Olympics bring it down to a crawl.
It is the future, today we look at doing an extra $??? on a set over magazines sales. It will not be long before we shoot 3 days a week 5 sets a day, purely on digital.
Plus I'm negotiating with two pro photographers to buy in their content to resell on the NET. Problem is they seem to think the minimum price for set is $300 and that does not leave enough for us today.

There are some things that are hard on the web but I have not found content to be one of them. The only thing that would make it difficult for a photographer is if they had problems finding and communicating with models and their potential clients. I am comfortable with each of these things.

I have not seen my business slow down through Sept 11th, the holidays, or even the Olympics. As a matter of fact, I had a record week in exclusive sales this past week.

Until it is banned, porn will rule the Internet and I will have a job...no... a DUTY to produce my content and distribute it to those in need....For I am THE GREATEST AMERICAN PORN HERO!!!
