I don't like guns. My bf wants to buy one and teach me how to shoot at a shooting range :helpme He's hot tempered, I don't want him to shoot someone just because they "disrespect" him by looking at me or something.

although Europe is far from united and unique, it's definitely much different than the United States overall, although they both represent the so called Western Culture

guns are just one thing - most ppl in Europe and America have totally diffent mentality, different attitude, mindset and priorities

the fact that there are other countries with many guns would back this up but murder rates (by gun or otherwise) in other countries is next to nil, in canada at least. although toronto is getting a bit bad lately with gun violence. why are so many people killing other people in the US?

No it is still a right.

You have to do a few fucked up things before you have that right taken away from you..that does not make it a privilege.

No shit sherlock.

That is one of those "fucked up" things you can do.

Now regarding yoru issues with medications...I personally have not seen where that would keep you from getting a concealed weapons permit in the states I have lived in..now if you have told your doctor that you thought about harming yourself, or others with a gun that's a different story and NO you should not be able to carry a concealed weapon if that's the case.

Seems almost every teen that I knew that was on any type of those meds went though a Gothic stage in their life...Almost all of them bragged about being a "cutter" or some other self inflicted damage.

I would trust someone that has ADD/ADHD/OCD over any body that was bi-polar/Anger problems.

I think you're missing the point man...step outside your issues for a second.

When I did some checking into concealed carry laws in the states I have lived in you didn't just have to be on medication, you had to have had other things going on in your past that would make you a potential threat to yourself or others...and that would be clearly making those threats.

So to just say because you have attention defecit disorder you can't get a CCW I say bullshit...there's more to the story than just that..if it's "anger issues" then it depends upon once again what you're talking about..sounds pretty deep to me.

Regardless...I can walk into a wal-mart tomorrow and buy a shotgun...no waiting. Only going to do a check to see if I'm a felon.

And regardless of what the crime is..if you are a felon you lose a lot of rights at those stagest...even the right to vote...but that doesn't make it a "privilege."

Yeah, do you really have a right to vote? it's a "privilege"/
I donno Can debate with you forever I was in Government Honors. And Goverment in college both passed with an A.

there is so many What if's and holes...Still though. I remember it being a test question. You don't have a right to vote. It's a privlage. Because that privlage can be taken away;its not a right.

Yadda Yadda the consitution is a living document. And I feel sick as shit I just ate dennys.. After Drinking Starbucks and beer today I am going to puke -=)

eroswebmaster 09-10-2005 12:47 AM

For example KMR...here are some things in Nevada that may get you disqualified:

What are Grounds for Denial?
Of course, a permit will not be issued to a person who is an ex-felon who has not had his civil rights legally restored, including the right to possess firearms.
The statute also provides that a permit will not be issued to a person who:
1. Currently has a warrant outstanding for his arrest.
2. Has ever been declared by a Judge to be either incompetent or insane.
3. Within the past five years has been admitted to a mental health facility.
4. Within the past five years has been a habitual user of alcohol or controlled substances, or been convicted of driving under the influence (DUI), or been committed to a rehabilitation program for alcohol or controlled substances.
5. Within the past three years has been convicted in any state of a misdemeanor of a violent nature, or involving force, or threatened use of force.
6. Has been convicted of a felony in any state.
7. Has been convicted of a crime involving violence or stalking, or under a restraining order for domestic violence.
8. Is on parole or probation.
9. Within the past five years has been a subject of a court requirement imposed as a condition of withholding a judgment of conviction of a felony, or suspension of a sentence for conviction of a felony.
10. Has made a false statement on an application for a concealed weapon permit.

#'s 2 and 3 address the issues you're bringing up...might be different in Florida..but it's pretty similar to Texas law as I can recall.

No it is a right because you don't have to "earn" it...however it can be taken away if you're a class A fuck up.

A privilege is something you have to "earn." Like a drivers license.

You have to show that you are responsible enough to be given that responsibility...like a CCW is a privilege..but anyone who meets siimple criteria lke having an ID and is not a felon can own a shotgun and have "the right to bear arms."

There are a lot of levels... From what I understand a CCW is based on State. In TEXAS Aren't you allowed to have a Shotgun thats visable behind you in a truck? But you can't have tinted windows.

In Florida it's 3days min to buy a gun unless you have been Federaly cleared.

If you have a Class III you give up your rights for search/seiser The ATF can come into your house at anytime and make sure that the gun case is locked and you can get a felonly fine if anyone in the house knows the combo besides you.

I understand enough. To know that what you hear and read aren't always the facts.

the point is you think it's a right to bear "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." (meaning National Gaurd)

I am done with this thread. Last place in the world I would take Governmental advice from is another pornographer

You missed the voting? You don't earn a right to vote when your 18.

Felony. = you can never vote.

LOL man I think you need to go lay down...you are clearly not making sense. You're trying to teach me about something I already know and you're not making a good case for what you're trying to say about rights vs privildges.

When you turn 18 anyone can vote...unless they are a felon.

That's what distinguishes a right from a priviledge..the fact that you don't have to EARN that right when you turn 18...you were born with that right in this country.

You can LOSE that right..sure..but just because you can lose it does not make it a "priviledge."

I can be a grade A asshole and vote all day and every day YOU CAN'T STOP ME...I have that right...I didn't have to earn it...I was BORN with it.

I can see what you're trying to say..but I think you're confusing the issues.

Shit man...breathing is a priviledge..nothing guarantees you that you're going to get that next breath...but in the context that you're trying to use priviledge you are wrong.

A drivers license is a privilege...voting is not it's a right.

Well, it's been over 24 hours since I asked the 23 year old Dirty_DS (aka Dirty Danza) to post a photo of him in a Marine Corps uniform bearing his supposed E-6 (Staff Sgt) rank insignia (after he bragged about his rank), and yet he didn't respond even though I offered it up as a chance for him to save face after he was apparently exposed as a fraud and liar on GFY several times before.

Many here may remember that he has allegedly failed to pay KBizzle for consulting, or D$ for sponsorship of an event for which he got advertising mileage out of without ever paying his sponsors fee, an unsubstantiated claim to be a Brazilian martial arts expert, his non-fight with Kimbo (to prove what a badass he is - so far he has proven that he is just a bad pathological liar), his unsubstantiated claim of injury in a motorcycle accident to explain away his failure to keep good on commitments, all of the recent down time of his sponsor program (which seemed to indicate that he was possibly not even able to pay his hosting fees), and his unsubstantiated claims that he made 200 sales per day, etc, etc, etc.
