45 bodies have been found at a flooded-out hospital
The bodies were located Sunday at the 317-bed Memorial Medical Center, which was abandoned more than a week ago after it was surrounded by floodwaters, said Bob Johannesen, a spokesman for the Department of Health and Hospitals. He said the bodies were those of patients, but he had no other information

The doctors and nurses that were also there tried to do everything they could - they had one of them on for an interview - after a few days the patients started dehydrating - there was no water and they said the temp inside the hosp got up to 106 (which will kill someone thats already sick pretty quickly) - their families that were visiting were there by their side till they died and then the ones that were still alive got evacuated quite a few days later and then the doctors and nurses evacuated.

I agree totally unacceptable. the doctors and nurses should have gotten those people to a safer hospital well before the storm hit. what were those dumb asses thinking? I smell some serious lawsuits coming |

The buses showed up on Sunday and they told them they would stick it out because
many were frail. This is another case where they thought the storm would miss them again but didn't ! |
