Has any human ever been put in a preserved state and lived?

Didn't ted williams get frozen or some shit? Have they ever preserved a healthy person a woke them up later?

I think with DNA repair people will live hundreds of years. I want to check out now and come back then.

Never been done. From what I understand they were able to do it to mice as recently as a year ago.

Works for bees...get a bee, put it in the freezer for 20 minutes, tie a string to it while it's frozen, then wait till it wakes up, and you'll have a bee kite.

Yes, this man was frozen and brought back to life. He now speaks backwards.

Nope, but they're getting better at it.

We had a round of "Zombie Dogs" posts on GFY a few months ago, use Search and read those threads if you want to know more about it. Interesting articles.

Yes Ted Williams was actually brought back and is currently playing for the Detriot Tigers as some no name guy. He holds back and doesnt play like his old self as to not draw attention to himself.

If you are buried in the ground you have a 0% change of coming back to life. Those people frozen have a chance. It might be 1 in a million, but it's a chance at potentially another 150 years of life. I would be frozen if I could afford it.

Makes you wonder though if waking up in 500 or 1000 years would drive some to suicide. The change in life would be enormous. Such people would have to be slowly let back into society. Maybe even a few years of being locked inside and trained on what they'll encounter in their new life. These people couldn't just walk out.

no...in order to preserve DNA and RNA the temp needs to be below -80 degrees C....
that's not a good temp for keeping flesh in tip-top shape...frostbite anyone?

Their theory is that the damage done by the cold temps will be considered correctable when it comes time to bring you back.

Some even think what they'll do is take a DNA sample, grow a new body and just do a brain transplant. So at that point the only thing they need to recover is your brain and it's memory.

There was an article in Scientific American about this. Freezing tissue causes damage obviously (causing water in cells to freeze, expand, and rupture the membrane). In some studies they discovered it's not the actual frozen state that causes the damage, the damage occurs while the tissue is in the process of freezing. They're doing experiments with this as a possible use in long range space travel (and for rich dead folk).

Some frogs exhibit this behavior through certain metabolic processes as well.

My guess, 50 years off.
