I hear ya, playa. I gave up a, I'm not joking, $120K+ [not factoring in "comps"] a year job at a dying Dot Bomb to do this.
Now, Im happier, have more to show for it, and work on my own terms.

The best benefit I get on working independently is that when an Idea for a new business model, website, viral marketing, or guerilla marketing hits me, I can act on it INSTANTANEOUSLY. No bullshit BOD meetings, no crap from investors or VCs, no need to "run it past" my CEO, I just do it. I don't know how long online porn will remain in its [relatively easy] present form but I do know that the mental attitudes and personal analysis I've learned can be applied, with great profit, to other businesses. I'm trying it now on apartment buildings.

So, to equinox and all others, follow what makes you happy and build on what you've learned. I sincerely wish you the best!
