CNN Going Anti-Bush, Or Returning to Responsible Journalism

Wolf is asking if the feds did not lower the flags to half mast when they should have.

CNN is also doing polls on how the president is doing.

They are describing his appearances as photo ops.

And the big story is Bush not wanting to include the LA Governor in his tour today.

The tough questions are being asked.

Hats off to CNN and Ted Turner.

How is Fox trying to spin this? We don't get them in Canada?

Do like how they are pointing out Bush's stops in the damaged areas have been well-planned photo ops - and the exact locations very much intentional. Even in a time of crisis the administration is still pushing a political agenda.

I was under the impression that Ted Turner sold CNN a long time ago and when it started going right he attempted to buy it back but wouldn't pay what was wanted.

Look, if FOX News can spread as much bullshit, lies and propaganda as they do, it doesn't hurt to have a network like CNN that's at least a little more honest.

There is factual news, and there is bullshit news for the brainwashed sheep. If your a sheep, watch Fox, if you really want to know whats going on, watch CNN.

All there is to it.

Ted Turner hasn't owned CNN for years...and CNN has always had a definite bent towards Democrats and FOX has always had a definte bent towards Republicans.

When Ted Turner was with CNN it was much better off. At least under him it wasn't mostly infotainment like it degenerated into lately.

What I find amusing is that some of the liberal reporters are on Fox, Geralod, Bill Hemmer, Greta, etc....

Well I hope CNN doesn't turn into a liberal mouthpiece. We already have one station that is a laughing stock for any kind of factual and balanced news (Fox News). It's a personal preference, but I'd rather have some major news stations play it down the middle and just report the news.

Ahhh, so you mean it is going back to the spoon fed news you require to keep your pie in the sky views intact...

I love how Canadian's (in this case, other times it is "fill in the blank country") think they know how the USA operates. I extened an offer to one of your countryman last week that was not accepted. I will offer the same to you, come to the USA for 1 year and live here. I will show you how the USA operates from every part of this country.... Only then will you have a true appreciation, and not what you are spoon fed via TV.

THROW YOUR FUCKING TV AWAY.

I do not let people off the street into my home to feed me bullshit stories... so why would I do the same with TV.

I have lived in many countries around the world and until you see shit with your own eyes, the party line fed to you (from either side) will influence your opinions far too much.

The USA could easily Blakanize officially, and only then would you get a picture as to how each state thinks, operates, etc. Every state and region in this country has similar roots, but perceives issues in entirely different ways, based upon learned behavior, 'brain washed' behavior, etc

Ted is no longer involved, he sold out. He took the money, and took a minority role. He was by no means an impartial source of OPINION anyways. He made it clear he was a die hard supported of the United Nations, and his marriage to Jane Fonda confirmed that he atleast saw eye to eye with here. His 100% right, but keep in mind he controls news distribution.

As for your comments on Fox, I would say the same thing about all news. People are people. All people have an ideology that they feel is just and right.... Everyone in their OWN mind feels they are doing the right thing.

Rupert Murdoch realized there was a market that was not being targeted. You know 60%+ of the USA. Look at the ratings. Are these sheep? No, they are people who were not being represented by the broadcast news and they made the choice to switch to this news network. Unfortunately the other networks realized they no longer had an audience that would listen to their broadcasts (often in disgust).

As an example Bill Moyers, from PBS, he honestly believes everything he says... but from someone who is a US citizen living outside the USA I can spot his bias in a blink of an eye. He is 100% set in his ways, and would never concede his opponent has done anything right. Is this a man you can trust for unbiased perspective??

I have watched news and news programs since I was 5 years old. It was what I did, and what I do. So since the time I remember watching news my first flashbacks are to Poland's Solidarity movement and OPEC. It progressed from there... I remember Peter Jennings' first day on the job. blah fucking blah.

In Fox New's defense I had to watch tainted news since I was a child, and the whole time I was watching it I would say, "This simply is not true". I base my OPINION on world and social events from experience, and TRUSTED sources. My views are not the same of the people around me, as I have formed my views from thousands of sources.

Before FoxNews I had these people, who I will call the meat men, deliver me a product that had been processed and ready for the simple mind to consume. The tree huggers, we will call them. Who have an agenda, as does everyone.

If you watch any of these news programs and think the concept of un-biased reporting exists you are seriously fucked in the head.

I could go for days on this and until you have an awakened and realize all the shit you have been fed for years is nothing more than that you will fight every word I say.

EVERYONE HAS A FUCKING AGENDA.

Fox news being defended?????

In the immortal words of Kelly Bundy, "The Mind Wobbles"

We can rejoice that some of the US media is calling Bush to account for his actions.

Well I grew up in Niagara Falls, ON, so I am pretty familiar with western NY. I was in NF NY late one night in 1975 and advised to return to Canada at once because a riot was going to break out. Good thing I had Canadian plates on my car.

For my work I am ofter stationed in the US. Decature Il, Atlanta, Detroit and Stamford for extended periods. Talking to people in stores and restaurants and bars gives you a pretty good idea of the country.

By no means am I an expert, but my view of the US has a lot of first hand encounters.
