Yeah, they can still get pregnant...I'm pretty sure the chances are about the same as if she wasn't on her period. They might be a little lower if depending on whether she's just started or is almost off 'the rag.' I'd think there would be less chance if she was just starting her period, due to the fact that her new egg hasn't formed yet.

I'm not sure...but if you did it with her and are nervous, go spend a few bucks and get a home pregnancy kit. I think they're only like 12 - 15 bucks and its money well spent.

The chances are MUCH slimmer, but not impossible.. The menstrual period is when the uterus sheds it's lining after having a month without implantation.. Generally the egg has already died and There is little to no chance of fertalization/implantation. However there is always a small chance ovulation occured later in the cycle, or the egg is still viable. Generally speaking though, it's a much lower chance.

I think the chances are slimmer than most people think. The birth control pill offers a hormone for the 3 weeks without a period and placebo for the other 7 days. The pill doesn't have long lasting affects (after a 24 hour period) which is why you're told to take it around the same time every day. I think if you have a very regular and calculable 28 day cycle, you can't get pregnant during your period... however, if it's not that stable the chances are higher.

This is all speculation, though.
