paypal froze an account ? That doesn't sound like paypal at all. I have never heard of a paypal account being frozen then them jerking the person around and never giving the money back..

What I dont understand is how they get away with stealing thousands if not millions of dollars from people at will with no recourse whatsoever.

they'll better talk to them, also this site need to provide proof they'll donate the money to the purpose they claim.

"Let me repeat that again: $3,500 AN HOUR"

do you know many sites/individuals collecting $50k/day+ in donations? Could be just a scam, should be investigated.

Exactly. if this was an individual person that was like "hey ill gladly take this money from you to send to that other person! Hey wait a minute I don't like the reason why this money is being transacted! Guess what? It's My money now and no one gets shit! Thanks!"

That person would be in prison.

Everyone is pointing fingers at paypal calling them scammers, but come on, what would do you in a situation like that? 20k flowed into their account within a few hours from a site called somethingawful.com, so of course they suspended an account untill they can investigate it.

ITS NOT PAYPALS JOB TO INVESTIGATE!

How can you investigate a crime BEFORE it's been commited.

What if Somethingawful was scamming people? Now we will never know.

Paypal saw 20k flow into a site, saw an opportunity to cash in on the lack of credibility on the site and stole the money. All there is to it.

I have to agree with this if Paypal does not give the money back or donate it to the redcross.

they were collecting money in favor of "Red Cross". Unless they had an authorization to do so, which I highly doubt, it is illegal.

that is ridiculous, should bring media attention for that, paypal would look like total shit if they found out it was a donation account for Katrina victims.

So what? They will just go into your bank account and take what they want if they have to (and yes, they have done this to me in the past).
