Why are rappers portrayed as being thugs and being strong?

To think about it, how can they seriously be taken as being thugs and being strong? They are SINGERS, and nothing more. Whether it's britney spears or esteban, they're still only musicians. It's like thinking that a street musician playing the accordion is a gangster, because he starts singing that he is. The only reason is that they sing about things that make people believe how strong they are. I can't seriously believe that a man who makes his money singing like shania twain is really strong or that there is anything intimidating about him.

With very few exceptions I doubt that many rappers can sing at all. It's mostly just talking over a beat.

I had an opprotunity to meet the idiot DMX, who is famous for his rap about being a tough guy, and how he beats on the cops etc. The funny thing is, the day I met him, he had actually started to believe his own shit, and hit a cop. The cop dropped him with one punch, and then pepper sprayed him. He was screaming like the sissy that he truly is.

And for any of you that say, that I have no idea what it is like to be sprayed by that stuff, you are wrong. I do. I have taken full face sprays with what the police carry, as well as full face spray with teargas from the millitary. And I never acted like this sissy did. Screaming and whaling!

I am not saying that all of the rap stars are like him, but I am sure that at least 60% are.

If they don't come from a thug background, they start living it and they beleive they are thugs.
