Bump... And Good Morning...

If you watched the news, have seen a newspaper, or talked to anyone that has, the situation in New Orleans worsens, by the hour.

In the 5 days since the hurricane hit, the US has spent 5 Billion (that is a "B") dollars. Last night, the US Senate passed a $10.5 Billion aid package.... Some screwed up logic to my mind....

The good news is that there has been almost $100 Million raised here in private donations. Our contributions are adding up, please do what you can.

Thanks to Ken and everyone that have really done a great deal. Thanks to those of you have donated $1. It is ALL important to the overall effort.

I know a lot of programs are doing their own contribution and prefer to remain silent; thanks to all of you too.

OK people, it is time to step up and help those that can?t help themselves on the Gulf Coast, here in the USA. If you have seen the pictures it is hard to believe the devastation. I know many of us have incredible memories of New Orleans and other spots down South. Those memories and experiences are because of the PEOPLE there.

Now those people need the help of anyone that has a few dollars to spare ? and they need it fast. Those of us that are not affected have got to do what we can ? if we can. The death toll will rise, the homeless count will skyrocket and it will be months before there will even be potable water or basic services. Food and shelter are luxuries that are not available even if these poor people had money ? but The American Red Cross knows how to deliver relief, and fast, with funding.

To help address this crisis ePassporte along with Christian and RRRed have created the Webmaster Support Fund which will raise money to be donated to The America Red Cross through the Hurricane 2005 Relief Fund.

Donations may be made via ePassporte, with no transfer fee or costs charged by ePassporte by logging on to your ePassporte account at www.epassporte.com and following the prompts on the login page, or, by sending a Transfer to User Name: hurricanefund. You may also visit www.webmasters4america.com and donate there as well. If you have already donated using the ePassporte page, your account may have been charged a transfer fee; if so, that fee will be rebated ASAP.

To start this effort off ePassporte is donating $5,000. right now. We are asking our clients, friends, associates and everyone in the Webmaster Community to donate what you can, as fast as you can.

Your donations will be posted by ePassporte, unless you wish to remain anonymous. In this situation, we feel that it is best to at least let your peers know that you are donating, although you may want to keep the amount private.

Come on folks, we raised a ton for the Tsunami, now we need to show some love for New Orleans and the rest of the Gulf Coast!

PS: I am calling some folks out ? you know who you are so get ready boys and girls!

Great Move Chris !!!!! I am behind it 100%

We are at $25K at this hour. Thanks to all.

A note:

I was just at Reunion Arena in Dallas, trying to deliver clothing. It is a madhouse! Dallas is third or fourth in terms of the cities taking the now so called Katrian Refugees. I can tell you that based upon what I saw, the people that are out of New Orleans, are in shock, to say the least. They have NOTHING. Just the dirty and wet clothes on their backs. It is sad, disgusting and frustrating. Your help is so important.

Thanks again!

Awesome news...We're sitting at a little over 21k in ACH donations. Plus that 40K WEG is willing to match.

Great response so far folks...let's keep it going through the weekend.
