I pay $1120 for a 1 bedroom apt. It's not very "nice looking" looks a bit ghetto even, but it's within 10 min walking distance to the beach. The apt is ghetto (to me anyways) but in a good neighborhood and the condos around here right by the beach are probably around 700k-800k and houses are probably the same with going in the million dollar range...

Average price for a average home is 500k so that means the down payment would be 100k, probably would be a lot higher for me because I have bad credit...

Do you live in Venice, CA?

Your description matches Venice. Many really expensive houses/condos but also a lot of older apartment buildings close to the water.

I know 17 year olds who pay more than that here, step your game up. I love NY.

yeah, if you want any kind of decent place in a city with over 250k-500k population you're gonna be paying 1k plus. i thought i got a pretty good deal with a 3 bedroom townhouse with a basement for that amount. tho i have to pay utilities as well.

My mortgage is $1100

My aunt's lil pad in Vegas runs $8K a month. She's selling!

$3150 - 3BR/3BA high-rise condo.

If I wanted to buy this place, it would be (mortgage+taxes+insurance+HOA+utilities) around $7.5-8k/month. It's nice, but it ain't worth $8k.. =)

JESUS! Where are you people living???? A 3 bedroom house out here in Cali rents for no less the 2k a month... but you'd better plan on at least $2,500.
