For Apple, in both the desktop and notebook sections of the survey, every single score is significantly better than the industry average for Windows machines. No exceptions.

I'm a Windows guy, but from what I've learned is that Apple is better in every way, shape, or form. Hell, they even look better.

This is just like beta vs vhs. beta was smaller tapes, and better quality. Yet vhs became the standard.

Donovan just proves the next point about the accuracy of the data/survey.

The company's scores are so high there's some concern that they can't be completely trusted: that Apple users are so passionate "almost fanatic" about the company and its products, they're not quite as objective as other computer owners.

and

Tempting as it may be to suspect that Apple owners are prone to exaggerate when asked subjective questions, they are much less likely to exaggerate the number of times a system needs repairs.

Sorry guys if apples were so good all you guys would be hosting on them. Once apple gets off the Ibm Power PC processors it will all be downhill from there. Ill keep my dual xeons anyday, i wouldnt even think of running Avid Pro on a mac. I hate windows but i hate macs more, and i hate the fact that they repackaged linux and sell it to everyone for a overinflated price.

Your definately right about that.. theres MILLIONS of peices of software for Wintel that is just pure CRAP!

The several options you do have on OSX are all high quality and superior to the crap you can get on windows,

Hmm lets have a look at the main things people use:

Web Browsers:
- Safari, Firefox, IE, Netscape, Opera, +shitloads more
Mail:
- Mail, Thunderbird, Eudora, MS Entourage +shitloads more
Trillian:
- Proteus, Adium

Lets take a look at the other usual suspects..

Microsoft Office.. better on mac
Adobe Everything.. better on mac

Pretty much everything that is worth caring about.. better on mac!

Games..
Well most blockbuster games make it to the mac, for EG my girl is playing WoW on her powerbook 12" at the moment.. but isnt that what my Xbox/ps2/psp is for?

Who gives a fuck about having a crapload of shit software options when you can have a smaller and very high standard of quality apps for your OS to choose from?

Oh and running a unix command line natively is simply awesome.

I have to agree. Mac's are where it's at. Yes, PC have tons of freeware that is cool at times but couple all the hidden files, files corrupting for no reason, viruses and haxors that will get your shit...c'mon, you gotta go mac.

The entire look of apple is so much more appealing. It does suck that they are so much more $ but you get it all back in the end w/ ease of use and peace of mind. They are so easy to use they have them in every school in the nation I thinnk!
