New Orleans is only a taste of the future..

Im really sorry for those people affected by this, but the horrible truth is that devastating weather has become, and will be even worse worldwide in the close future. Fact is that the heat produced these extreme conditions, and this last incident is a serious slap in the face to those who choose to ignore global warming. Or hopefully a wake up call?

The most ironic part is those who worry and whine about rising oil prices because of this... GREAT! Lets lower the prices so we can pollute more! It's quite naive mentality, if you ask me. Unfortunately, its human tradition to learn first when its too late. And unfortunately we do not live longer than 60-100 years, so many people just give a fuck.

Anyway, you can be passive and pray, believe some fictive God will help out, or you can adapt that communication with mother nature does not work with diplomacy, but with action. Donate to victims is a good cause, but you can also play a little preventive part by signing on places like this:

that (global warming) explains why the 1935 hurricane was larger,
stronger and more devastating 70 years ago.

            Is Global Warming Fueling Katrina?

"One especially sobering study from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology found that hurricane wind speeds have increased about 50% in the past 50 years. And since warm oceans are such a critical ingredient in hurricane formation, anything that gets the water warming more could get the storms growing worse. Global warming, in theory at least, would be more than sufficient to do that. While the people of New Orleans may not see another hurricane for years, the next one they do see could make even Katrina look mild."

The earth's magnetic field has long been overdue for its polar reversal. This normally happens every 300,000 years and the last one occurred over 700,000 years ago.

The electromagnetic fields on the North and South Poles protect the planet from intense solar radiation. When the fields begin a reversal process the north and south fields begin to gradually weaken until they go into a state of flux and wobble and then reverse. The north will be south and south will be north.

During the transistion the atmosphere gets bombarbed with above normal amounts of solar energy. The energy is heat. Heat changes the planets weather patterns.

You get incredibly unusual weather everywhere which is what we've been seeing in the past few years and the intensities of storms goes off the charts.

Its not only the one incident, but the frequency. 3 huge disasters just in one week now, caused by the heat.

of course something needs to be done but raising gas prices helps nothing besides make the oil companies pockets fat. studies have shown increases in gas prices do nothing. people can't just stop driving because of gas prices. what needs to be done is creating a whole other way of using fuels that are more enviromentally friendly. but you can blame the oil company lobbiest who have bush in their back pockets for that.
you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..

Last few decades there has been a significant rise in arctic species born with immune system disorders, like never seen before. Do you explain that with bird shit???

                                                Sadly, doubt that DD!

The "poles" will melt away and the human race will still be gasping for breath to reach the gas station before they even notice.

I've not got the stats handy, but a friend who specializes in "helping govts out" on their eco policies (got a massive budget for this!) was of the opinion shit would hit the fan kinda quick and explained it simply:

Imagine the human race in a cup. The cup is 10% full. The population of the cup doubles every, say, 10 years. When it's 50% full, it would take only 10 years to have it overflowing and no longer sustainable.

BTW.. Most govts know this very well - it has been talked about enough and have been presented with the data, but just avoid the issue since they won't be around when it happens.

There is one massive problem on the horizon with everything from population growth, environment and food production blah.
