not a chance...

bringer 09-01-2005 02:00 AM

wow, so many would sacrifice their lives for a pet. maybe your kids will put that on your grave stone before they are forced on the street begging for food. you're all awesome!

lilspup 09-01-2005 02:42 AM

I wouldn't leave my dog or my four cats, they are my babies :)

loverboy 09-01-2005 10:29 AM

Yeah dude didn't you know, the thousands dead in New Orleans could have gotten out. They just chose to die with their dogs or cats rather than leave them.

The BS in this thread is thick.

i was talking about the people in this thread saying they'd basically tell rescuers to fuck off and stay with their pets.

I'd like to think I'd never let go of my husband or my dog, but whenever you say "never", life has a cruel way of finding a way to test that theory. :(

i didnt see the video of that but i saw the interview with the guy & his kids, that story really was the eye-opener for me. :2 cents: :(

If your dog could understand, he would want you to leave him and save yourself!

Makes you want to cry, doesn't it? :Oh crap

Lets be realistic here, they probably didn't let the guy bring his dog , because it means less room on whatever he was being rescued in , for other human victims..

It may seem cruel , but it would sure seem cruel if your kids drowned because a helicopter full of some old ladies cats and dogs couldn't fit you.

Dogs are usually pretty good swimmers. I would think they could last longer than a human would..

good point.. I guess it becomes a matter of personal choice.. it would be tough, but when you have other responsibilities too you may not be able to make that choice

sometimes you can't allow yourself to be sentimental/attached

and sometimes you have to make sacrifices, even if it hurts to the hilt
