Oh man!!! I'm right on the verge of wanting to quit cold turkey. I've done the wellbutrin and the patch like 5 times etc... But at the time I was focusing on others nagging the shit outta me rather than reallly wanting to quit.
I really want to quit.... Not that long ago I did pretty well for a while by using an "aid" which was quest cigarettes... http://www.questcigs.com/
I'm actually going to order them tomorrow. You can still smoke but you "accidentally" quit without really realizing it.
There's 3 levels of nicotine.. Just like the patch except it's not pumping your body with twice as much nicotine as the patch does. You suffer just a little and smoke more for like 3 days and then you get used to them... smoke the rest of the carton and then go again to a lower level.. By the time I did level 2, like 6 hours would go by without noticing and I'd realize I hadn't smoked. Cuz by then they aren't doing much for you at all so you don't crave them as much.
Then the cool part is when you get to level 3... It's NO nicotine. So if you go out and drink or whatever and smoke like a train, you can wake up the next day without the full fledged addiction again.
The key is to NOT RUN OUT... that's the problem. Once you run to the gas station to buy a pack so you can just have one, you're screwed.
Thanks for the inspiration, headless.
