My small, home-grown attempt at "p2pads" advertising ...

I started playing with p2p advertising about 6 years ago, after good old Andy Dunn mentioned it in his (much-missed) SexSwap newsletter. But once Windows Media Player started blocking script-based popups I gave up.

Well, now that drm is a readily available way to get traffic from p2p (and seeing all the ads for p2pads.com on here) I decided to give it another go.

I got drm setup, wrote a couple of simple Visual Basic programs to combine word lists and rename / resize files, and for the last two days I've been sharing these 650 files on a few different networks via my cable modem.

Here's the results so far for today:

So, after two days, looks like it's bringing in about 100 uniques per day.

Nothing to get too excited about, but at the same time, that's free traffic!

If I had the money I would love to get setup with something like p2pads has going ... if my tiny effort can produce these kind of results, I imagine that their setup must be quite impressive indeed.

I'll keep you guys updated as I add more files and get this running on my other computer as well.

What a waste of time. Focus your time on other projects unless you are going to go big.

Nah, it's a fun little project. If I can get it up to bringin' in 1k uniques per day, slightly targeted, it'll be worth the few hours I spent on it

Why bother advertising to people who are too cheap to buy anything? Out of that shit traffic of 12 year olds and people from Pakistan without credit cards did you get a single sale?

Thanks man. I love these kind of side projects, makes me remember why i am in this business... not because of the porn, but because of the ability to put your skills to the test and make something out of nothing.

Alot of people say the same thing about TGP. "Shit traffic...no money there." Some of us are fortunate enough to know that, that's bullshit. As far as P2P Ads and quality traffic and conversions go, the traffic has been tested and proven to convert. I've never known GTS to be anything other than honest and all they do is put out great services that make people money. I'm doubting that their new P2P service will be any different.

I'm not offended at all, I will readily admit that after two days I have not yet made a sale from this traffic lol and it IS a laughable amount of traffic. If I didn't have other projects to support me I would of course be fucked!

That's not the point though. I'm having fun.

This is an experiment.

And 100 downloads a day will get you nowhere. You need at least 5 servers to get some decent traffic.

I don't think it's a bad idea. Here in our office, after reading p2pads post, we are getting something setup to give it a try.
So it looks like we are on the same track.
We know that we won't make a lot of money, but heck, why not try?

Xlogger, I'm sorry you feel so hateful and spiteful about the fact that we brought this product to market before you had the opportunity or means to.

We have sold serveral packages already to some of the largest players in the game, and those of you who know me know I would not lie about that.

That's great to hear DH, and I can't wait to hear some results from those campaigns as well. Although the price is pretty high, I do see the great potential in what you're doing and wish you the best with it. If nothing else, you obviously inspired me (and not for the first time)!

I would have never bought anything to any market. I am not a team player, i like to do things myself. So no fact in that.

Tell me who the big players are though. No one has yet to say they have bought anything.

Thanks Jawanda, I understand the 10k package is a bit steep for a lot of webmasters/affiliates and we are taking steps to make this traffic available at a lower cost investment.

We should have it ready for next week so we will let everyone know when it's 100% ready to go

I will send this thread to the people who have purchased from us and if they decide to post the fact that they bought a campaign from us they can. If they don't want to it's their business, but I'm not going to reveal their information without asking them first, we don't do business like that.

HAHA My old partner Tommy wrote that up, and submitted it to Andy.

Try looking for opensource server clients. Google has lots of tools to get around the windows problem. ;)

On a side note do you think that just anyone should be able to eat marshmallows? I think they are too tasty to be reserved for anyone but a few select people.

If you're working on your own setup, please feel free to ICQ me if you would like any help or assistance.

We're all very confident in our product at P2P Ads. It is unique, proven, and is capable of delivering an incredible amount of traffic. While it's quite easy to setup a simple system to share files, it's a completely different process to deliver high quality easily converted traffic to professional customers.

So, if you need some help configuring your own setup, please feel free to contact me for details. I'll help the best I can so that we can all profit from a new source of traffic.

Are there any products on the market or available from private developers that can be ramped up to produce the type of traffic p2pads is generating? If so, we'd be interested in hearing proposals.

$10,000 I believe the cost is...

Only question you need to ask yourself is...

P2Pads.com -> If it's so good, why would you be offering it to others? At $10,000 a pop, I can see why.. you likely could make 80-90% more selling people a service at $10,000 than doing it solely by yourself.

The fact is.. I have sold several P2P ads in the last month, but the best part is I don't give a fuck if you believe that or not. Anyone can get Peer traffic on a small scale and if you have the capital to go big all the power to you. We don't force people to buy traffic, we lay it out and the option is there for you, if you think it's not for you.. no probs.. if you want to buy, lets do business. But if you don't have the facts, STFU

Please drop by our booth in Vegas or if you are going to be at the Amsterdam show or in Curacao or Santa Monica please come by and say hello. Or call us? Your smart ass mouth wont go past your keyboard will they?
