Lets see. Instead of using some of our strategic oil reserves to calm the market, our brilliant leader has been buying more oil for it, at these high prices. Then again, I did hear he got a c+ in economics 101 in college.

"U.S. crude oil futures jumped nearly $5 a barrel in electronic trade to touch a peak of $70.80 a barrel, the highest front-month price since the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) began trading the contracts in 1983."

Conspiracies? Multiple supply chain factors including a lack of refining capabilities coupled with corporate greed and price gouging hae led to these prices. While I don't blame Bush for the prices, I would say that past administrations ignored this sleeping giant. Add to that Oil companies and the automakers have stifled technologies and processes that would relieve the world of oil needs. We all need Bio Diesels powered by vegetable oil. Vegetable oils may have a future. Genetic engineering of a high yeild oil plant isn't far in the future.

You have a Texas oil family controlling the government. Hello. What'd you expect prices to go down.

Wake up sheep.

We never respond to a problem until it becomes a crisis. There isnt a lot of oil considering China and India's burgeoning demand. That demand is going to continue in the years to come, provided some worldwide depression doesnt occur.
