Last nights Hurricaine in Miami was MUCH stronger than we expected

Wow. As it turned out, the storm turned somewhat south and the eye came right over my place at about 6pm yesterday. We lost power until this morning and we are lucky to have it back. Most people around us don't have power.

The winds were up around 80 mph, trees and power lines and light poles are down all over the place. It's impossible to get down the street where my sister lives, so I had to park and wade through the water around the downed trees to her place to check on her.

During the height of the storm there were trees and branches flying, and the lightning was lighting up the sky bright jade green.

Very trippy.

Looks like 4 people were killed, and there were some boats destroyed at my marina. I need to go north and find some breakfast.

I hope that it doesn't turn back inland as it comes up the gulf. It's still sunny and warm here. We may see it tonight or tomorrow in Tampa.

I've been seeing the footage on CNN... that's a lot of water

I feel bad for Florida but I hope the 2nd landfall of Katrina is nowhere near here, conditions are perfect for it to go up to category 3

That's good that they have power. I'm SUPER lucky to have it. almost none of the buildings and neighborhoods around me have it, just talked to SEGuru in Fort Lauderdale, and they don't have power up there.

Hey Mike,
I could not agree with you more. My power is out now, only reason i am online is cause i kicked it over to a friends house this morning. I was sitting at my kitchen table on my laptop and it sounded like a shotgun went off, and there was a big splash of light. I could not believe my power was still on, but then i walked over to the window and the power lines that run behind my condo looked like they were on fire- they were all sparking like crazy and making this loud ass popping noise. I called 911, it was pretty scary- the branches kept hitting the lines everywhere along the stretch of wires from the one tranformer to the other pole. A big branch came down right into the lines and was dangling RIGHT OVER MY CAR. I had a vantage point view looking down on all this (i am on the 3rd floor). Thru all of this i still had power and was just holding my breath knowing it was going off any second. Yep, it went down about 5 minutes later. It was the first time i have ever been happy to loose power, haha. Atleast the 6 or so snarled live power wires that came unwrapped and were sparking weren't sparking no mo! But the minute you know you don't have electric it just sucks. haha. Anyways i rode it out and was pretty amazed when i was walking my dogs this morning. Lots and lots of trees down, tons of signs down.. debree everywhere. I mean everywhere. Nobody has electric in my neighborhood. I only had one friend who got power back (hense my reason for coming over here) and i know my power will not be back soon since there was all the line damage etc. Atleast that is how it was last year when the power lines also caught fire when a different tree came down on it (i didn't have power for 8 full days last year).
Sooo it's grin and bare it for now ;) yay!

Hope everyone else is faring ok....

Glad you guys are OK down there! The storm has actually improved the tampa weather today. It's cooler and windy. Hopefully it stays west before making that northerly turn!

Thanks Sagi! Call me sometime, we have stuff to discuss! .

I just got back from finding someplace open to eat.... and the drivers are such total idiots!

If the traffic lights are out, you are supposed to treat the intersection as a 4 way stop. These MORONS are just zooming right through..... and when I stop as I'm supposed to, they are almost running into me from behind, leaning on their horns

Fucking IDIOTS!

I just heard from a friend of mine in the Doral area of Miami. She was staying at her parents house and a 100 foot tree in the front yard fell during the height of the storm last night and came down through her bedroom ceiling.

Nobody was hurt, but DAMNMNMNMN!

Yup, it's a cat 2 already, and it's barely made it's way into the gulf. I'm still nervous about this one..I have a weird feeling it's projected path won't be right-had that feeling all along, and so far it has deviated from what was expected quite a bit...whether it skirts up the west coast of Florida (then I'm in trouble) or not is what I'm worried about.

Hey Jonesy,

It's crazy how power can go off in one place and not in the place next door isn't it?

My buddy Bob was fine actually....the strongest winds were south of him.... it was much worse down by me and further south. He lost power and watched his boat swinging around on the davits all night, but otherwise he is ok. His street was a real mess with all the trees that they have there..... lots of debris.

Well now, you see.....That's a little complicated.

I've been watching you over the last year or so, ever since that report of you raping a girl in Florida at Internext last year. I notice that the thread seems to be gone from GFY but it's still on another board or two....Anyway.....

I've just noticed that you are not the person that you portray yourself to be. Some of the things you have said and done as a guest in our groups at recent shows have been less than acceptable. Nobody is perfect and God knows that I've done a lot of tacky and inappropriate things myself...BUT.....It's what you did afterwards that took me from leery of you to fully pissed off.

And as for what you did specifically, that you will probably never know because slimy people like you do fucked up shit like that as if it's second nature. Therefore you are most likely not clever enough to see how you fucked up in the first place.

If you have any other questions about this, you can talk to my finger.

Here's a fair warning to anybody reading this:

Michael Sperber is not who many of you think he is. DO NOT EVER TRUST HIM. He will try to fuck you at the drop of a hat if he thinks he can benefit from it.

trully sucks man... I had a quick talk with my sister's ex bf , i heard there was an avalanche in the place near her mom's place (geneva). this happened in france though and few people have died, some babies were so unfortunate to be in that situation.. this is really sad..

What the HELL have I ever done to you.

Please find me someone that thinks that I will fuck ANYBODY!

FUCK YOU AARON.

I have never done ANYTHING to warrant those words from you, or anybody else. I don't know what the fuck you think I have done, but I sure the hell don't deserve anything like that. I have NEVER fucker over ANYONE in this business, or in any other aspect of my life.

I sleep well at night, and I'm a man of my word. I fucking challenge you to find anyone that thinks otherwise that has done business with me. I have tried to be understanding and patient with trying to find out what is pissing you off, but now you have gone too far.

I DON'T deserve that crap from you or anybody else. I have always acted honorably to everyone, and that has been in sharp contrast to people around me in this business. I'm NOT like some of the greedy fucks that I've seen that will do whatever it takes to make a profit. I've NEVER been like that.

Fuck my patience with this situation, and FUCK YOU.

I drove home from a friends house in the eye of the storm at around 8pm... Didnt even know it was the eye til I got home. It wasnt a short ride either; drove from south Kendall to North Miami area. I personally think the storm was overrated on the TV...

And yes Michael, I do know other people who feel the same way about you that I do and for the very same reasons. Believe me, it has been discussed at great lengths with those involved.

You've been patient huh? LOL, yeah...It shows.

Fucking tool.

Drama aside, I'm glad LauraLee's OK enough to get to a neighbor's house and message.
