people still collecting e-mails based on web spidering are trapped in the 90's

and mostly nigerian

i doubt we can do much to stop them from trying to inherit our land

True. More "recent" methods are noted in http://www.spamhaus.org/ and other antispam sites.

the only way i could see use in it, would be contacting local businesses for contracts etc. if you were say a builder

but swiping a list of the net just aint right, you're getting 10 year olds from boyscout pages, its an embarassment to everyone that works on the net

that aproach is completely useless, it takes a whole tenth of a second for a script to relize that none of the domains in those email addresses resolve...
