I however live in Orlando, and I know for a fact by the time it reaches here, it would be (at most) a Tropical Storm. Me too... I have had over 50 years of blizzards & tornadoes. I will live with a tropical storm any day. Now Hurricanes are a different story. Last year was the first year in almost 30 years that our area has been affected at all. I am playing the odds......I am probably 5, 6 miles from the ocean, and the canals take care of the flooding problem. I grew up in Arizona, so when hurricane Emily was headed straight for us, I was ready to leave here, especially after seeing all the damage Florida goes thru every year. Luckily she made landfall about 45 miles from us and we didn't suffer any real damage.
I watch the weather like I was a newbie checking stats

I have lived here for over 25 years and I would rather deal with a possible Hurricane once in a while then deal with snow every winter.
My complaint is insurance, homeowners policies have increase 20 and 30 percent, and more. I pay nearly 4500/year between home and flood and I have never made any claims...ever.
Screw it, this time I am opening every window in the house...

This shit will be nothing .. I lived here round 8 years and in the Keys through george and Irene . They compare this to Irene. I never lost power in IRENE and was outside tynig down our boat and the fucking wind picked me up and threw me around 5 feet. So a cat 1 can do some shit ... but I live right on the Water ..
But that was near the eye . Looks like this will hit more like Hallendale Beach ... just alot of rain and wind ..
