The war was about the rights of states over the federal government, not slavery. Obviously I'm glad that things turned out the way that they did, but technically, the Confederacy was in the right. Linoln and the north were technically the aggressors, and they did NOT have the right to impose their will just because they wanted the cotten and agricultural products from the south.

Get a Grip? Please.... Can you imagine if Bush suspended Habius Corpus, with no need for evidence to put people in jail, and put other politicians in jail for simply disagreeing with him? What about if the police killed hundreds of people on Bush's orders so as to force people into the army to fight for a war that they didn't want?

Yea but the Confederacy was formed for one simple reason; because the southern states knew Lincoln was opposed to slavery and viewed him as a threat to end slavery. So the civil war was about slavery. The war wasnt started because the federal govt was trying to impose their will on the south, it was started when the south started siezing federal forts and thus the attack on Fort Sumter.

For your info I have had signs ripped out of my hands and had friends attacked by left wing protestors that didn't want us to have our freedom of speach. I think that the reason why the right brings up Clinton is that there never seems to be protestors when the war is being run by a democrat....
