Tonight on Cyber Crime (Tech TV) there is a story about a couple that ran a site that links to child porn behind an AVS. These people got LIFE for this! If you are in the US you might have seen this. They did not make the actual site, they just linked to it.

If you have a TGP, Link List, Pic Post, or anything similar make sure you review your incoming links. The US Gov. has an investigation called Operation Avalanche that is actively looking for anyone even linking to anything that looks like it links to a site with anyone under 17-and-11.9 months!

If you are making child porn, I hope you get turned on by big dudes fucking you in the shower.

This should make everyone think twice about using pre-made gallery services. You have to be sure what is going on YOUR site!

Partially true. They didn't prove that thouroghly. They snagged him for linking FIRST then investigated. They saw some of the many 20 and $30,000 checks and then went even deeper. He is trying to appeal the participation charges

It doesn't matter. The fact that you could get put in the pokey for linking is enough for me. Unless you enjoyed the showers with the other guys after gym class, that should be enough for you too!

If this is regarding the case in Fort Worth Texas this couple did far more than just "link" to child porn.

They provided a billing service which it turns out that the 3 sites that made up most of their business were hard core child porn sites.

The couple made millions of dollars off of this.

And this is old news : )

Of course it wasn't unintentional. These perverts knew damn good and well what they were doing. They were getting hundreds of thousands every month for doing it!

That's not the point. The point is the Feds based their case on the links and had just(?) cause to bring them in on that alone. Then they started the full investigation.

You know as well as I do... If the Feds are on your tail it doesn't matter if it was intentional or not, you are a pornographer. You are GUILTY until proven innocent - not the other way around!

Don't get them on your case. The current political climate says that they would like to see all of us put out of business for anything they can think of. They could bother a lot of us with little things like that now that they have a frame of reference to draw on in regards to this case.

Maybe we should all go hang out with Mika & Teen Godfather in Finland until Bush is out of office!

Hey Wolf,

I mentioned this in another thread a couple of days ago. If a webmaster doent watch his site, VISA will.

We, along with every other third party biller and Acquirer, received our notice from Visa, to be on the lookout for any websites doing child porn. Any sites with the words lolita, preteen, or pedo, will be investigated by a detective bureau which contact info we were given to report offenders immediatley.

Visa is making it mandatory to disclose all sites we do business with, so they can investigate themselves.. or face immediate suspension. So even sites that try to hide thier content or affiliations will be discovered. Im sure youll be hearing more of these types of cases soon as they begin to have less places to hide.

I'm just giving a heads up for those that may not know what can happen. Some people didn't know a link can get you into deep shit. I knew but this was the first case I know of that started because of some links (then got worse from there!)

Dude, you can't speak for everybody on this. If just 3 people who might be reading this goes through their pre made gallery links thats they are using for their tgp or link site and finds something they didn't know was there this thread has helped someone.

Do you have something against letting people know what's goin on so JUST IN CASE someone was slipping up a little bit on their checking and upkeep they are motivated to double back and catch something that could be potentially hazardous to their business and freedom?

If a few people get caught on something like this all it would take is a bored reporter to catch wind of this and if they need a story that day you will see " Adult Porn - Haven For Child Molestors!"

I saw it on tv once this year. That's enough.

But I'm sorry for saying something since you say you've spoken to everyone and can assure me that everyone knew there was a danger and no one has anything to worry about except me.

I actually watched the program and in the beginning among the things that brought attention to this operation was the links. Operation Avalanche is in business to ferret out the little guys and go after the big guys. The mere fact that they are paying attention to where the links are placed should be enough for you. Not to mention Lolita brings enough trouble by itself.

Looking at the opening GFY board everyday and seeing a new name means there are people who might not know the smallest thing in addition to all the experts like yourself that are here too.
