GAS IS EXPENSIVE BECAUSE YOU'RE BUYING TOO MUCH OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Wanna help the price of gas go down? Most of us work at home, but how many of us consolidate our "errands" into one day a week in an organized route to optimize gas usage? If you don't work at home, how many times a week do to you take something other than your car to work? On the weekends, how often do you stay local and ride your bike or walk to a restaurant or wherever you want to go out?

Most likely you're a typical American who loads up the Escalade to drive down to the corner store to buy some smokes. Who gasses up all their toys and the big car and drives more than an hour away every weekend. Who can't be bothered to figure out a carpool or how public transportation works because it's inconvenient.

You want to make a difference? Change starts at home. We drive our car 2x a week on average. My husband and I bought a house in a specific location so that he could use public transportation to get to work and save us gas, wear and tear and parking fees. The changes seem strange and difficult at first, but once it becomes a habit it's easy. Gas could be $10 a gallon and it wouldn't affect our day to day lives much. Would make it tougher to go on vacation, but day to day things wouldn't change.

People can learn to live like this now, or they can learn to live like it later... but they WILL learn. Only the ultra elite rich will be able to do otherwise.

Coke - reasonable.

Coppertone spf 45 - a bargain at any price. The coppertone sport in the blue bottle is the shiz nit yo.

Pepto - overpriced for what it is.

Visine - extortion. They should be nailed for price fixing the entire eye care industry.

Gas - still not outrageous in the US. It is still cheaper than milk but not for long.

No offense to anyone here, but most of you are showing complete ignorance and lack of knowledge of economics in this thread. Go read my post on page one, a simple few sentences that even the most ignorant of people should be able to grasp.

There have been numerous good ideas to fight a number of social and economical problems.. and if (IF) people would band together, things would get done, but the Boston Tea Party days are long since over...

Most people would rather keep paying higher gas prices, fear the IRS, yada yada, than to go with any plan that could change this country for the better..

Everyone just wants to live their own life and not have to be inconvenienced in such a way...

Nice to see that we can have a civilized debate of the issues! Exchange ideas, explore all the facts regarding every side of subject.... :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

The reason it never works is because oil companies work on a weekly schedule. So unless you can convince everyone to boycott gas for an entire week it won't make a difference.

Tap water costs not even a penny a gallon.

Some other eye openers.

# Chanel No. 5 Parfum: $45, 056
# Revlon Nail Enamel: $983.04
# Visine Advanced Eye Drops: $741.12
# Vicks 44D Cough Syrup: $96.67
# Coppertone SPF 45 sun-block lotion: $90.11
# Pepto-Bismol: $58.52
# Evian bottled water: $21.19
# Mocha at Peaberry coffee (tax included): $22.28
# Corona beer: $12.89
# Snapple: $10.32
# Tide liquid detergent: $8.39
# Coca-Cola: $2.64
# Tap water, Denver Water - .00186 cent for 11,000 gallons or less per month, including monthly service charge

You're talking apples and oranges. There wouldn't be a single car in the world if gas was $45,056/gallon if the average car got 20mpg.

I've never purchased 25 gallons of Vicks 44D Cough Syrup. If my car used gasonline the way that I buy cough syrup which is never then I wouldn't care.

You can't blame car owners either for buying relatively inefficient vehicles. With gas at less than $2.00/gallon which frankly is still high it isn't hard to justify the expense. However, those vehicles were purchased prior to he major hike in prices. You can't say "It serves you right".
