Disney has really big figures like this one of many of their characters. Wish I had known that months ago! I gotta buy a new house just to put this stuff in!

I definitely wanna build a big ass Hot Wheels track!

Some of my stuff have motion detection sensors so when I run a hot wheel or train set past them they'll activate and talk or sing or play music. Building a big train set will give me and my uncles and cousins and brothers something to have fun with. Tools for building small houses etc. are cheap and far more advanced since the good ol' days. Plus with LEDs you can rack your shit to the max!

You got the Sideshow stuff?? I met the sculptors. I heard Sideshow was shutting down or maybe it's a rumor. Anyway, KEEP that Sideshow stuff. It's really in demand! Guys are fighting over it every day on the boards!

Not that pricey! I know how to shop. I'm famous for finding bargains and products that are rare but will grow in value.

If you shop wisely it's like putting money in the bank. For the amount I paid for this collection, I am so on the ball that I can sell 2 or 3 items alone and pay for it all with money left over for a new laptop.

I've been in comics and collectibles for 30 years. Believe you me I know a bargain when I see one :)

Disney Paris had some AWESOME pieces! Wish I had known then what I know now. I got some pieces from the Netherlands too. Shows me you have to hunt for those exclusives.

Eat ass.

I have to fight the chicks off with this stuff. I was on the front porch one day cleaning off some of the statues and I had to turn down pussy there was so much. Especially when I broke out the TV Land maquettes.

Thanks! Don't tell me you didn't have a Barbie Doll collection.

My sister had all the original Barbie stuff. She could buy a new house with that stuff now.

Ha! I forgot to mention the turntable! Those are collectibles as well!

Old albums, turntables. Do they still make turntables???

Dagwolf 08-23-2005 09:43 PM

There are guys who will sell you their first born child for a He Man toy set.

You should take pics of ALL your collections for insurance purposes. If your collection is worth $1,000 or more, it's wise to insure it. If I shot video of every toy I've bought over the past 6 years I would have more video than the Star Wars movies.

Yet, because the collection rose so fast I have to insure them. I bought some Iron Giant toys several years ago and they appreciated 700% already. Yet my collection is in a good range as baby boomers love my stuff. Any toys between '83 and '95 are highly prized as those kids then are now money makers.

That's what I did this year. Set aside a few G's to buy all my old toys so I could have a decent studio to futz around in while I'm studying and working.

Now the big challenge will be the Hot Wheels toys. Dudes fight over them. I have to get my Hot Wheels and Corgi cars and tracks collection next if I can afford it. They used to have Sizzlers. Those were Hot Wheels cars you just charged up like a battery and they rolled on and fucking on! That was the last set I had back in the 70s and can't figure out why in the world I stopped playing with them. ( Now I know why, it's called GIRLS became more interesting ).

Now that I'm an old fart I can enjoy my stuff and study the craftsmanship which is remarkable. I now design toys and build prototypes! I invest in new statue/maquette lines and the return is like 800% EASY. Believe you me, if you get in on developing toys, go for it. You end up making tons of loot before you even start.

I can take a piss ass $5-$10k and toss it at the boys who do the sculpting and marketing and within a few weeks the shit is fucking ON! I mean the guys who sculpt the Marvel/DC/Star Wars shit too. Just awesome work and new guys and girls being trained every day.

Oh, a toy set I have to get are the old electric football sets. Back before video games they would make a table that vibrated and you had football team figures just like the real teams. You would turn this shit on and the players would run around the set! They fucking ROCKED! If I could get the 60's Jets, Vikings, Bears, I would be fucking happy!

where on earth do you find people to sculpt your own figures?

i would LOVE to have my fav. artists drawings turn into actual 3D renderings. i am a toy obsessor, i also have a giant comic collection and still have thousands of POGS full sets LOL.

the sadest thing ever that has happened to me is that my father had #1 captain america through #10 when he was younger, and had them ALL saved. but my grandma hid them and went to the grave with what she did with them.

i am guessing she just end up pawning them off, that is 1 thing i will never do is sell my collectables.

If you have the original issued Transformers from the 80's you could probably buy a hot car with that dough.

Especially the original 10" Megatron die cast. That fucking toy kicked shit!!! My little brother got one for Christmas back then when he was a kid and even my mom was astounded at the craftsmanship.

If you have the dough and space, always collect the high end and limited edition transformer toys.

Dude! Hit me up on email or ICQ! The reason I can is because for 20 years I've worked in comics and animation. Nowadays every once in a while people still sell my stuff on Ebay. Just search 'greg boone comic books' or just 'greg boone'. Some days there's only 1 item, other days there may be 50 items. Sometimes the same item will sell for $1 and on other days they'll sell for $500. Fuckin' weird but cool!

So all those years working in comcs, animation, toys I got to know all the guys. I myself have turned into a sculpting fool! I can't stop! Too much fun! If you have the dough you can get a guy to sculpt you anything! No shortage of the guys around but we just started an exclusive sculpting group that took off like a rocket. For the high end stuff we pay one of the world top sculptors just a G or two and we ROLL! For the younger guys just a few hundred bucks. they're top, fast, awesome!

If you look at my earlier pics you'll see lots of the work they've done. Most are tied up doing all the Marvel, DC, Star Wars shit but they have time off now and then.

Heck, one guy did a popular sculpture of porn star Asia Carrera. You can see it at www.electrictiki.com There are two versions of her. I wish he would do a Candy Samples one or a Bettie Page cause that shit would sell out so fast it would be stupid.
