I got a virus on my computer and it wont let me surf in IE (im using firefox) also it wont let me load trillian or check my messages in outlook. it also turns off my firewall and wont let my norton run, and if I open norton to run a virus scan it says that the scan was stopped by the user. also, it wont let me run the virus def. update or connect to a windows update page. any ideas?

if you're on winxp try to do a system restore back about a week or so. If that doesn't work. format the fucker. seriously, it's a real bitch to get rid of. I had it and it FUCKED my whole network. I got rid of it but just by sheer luckComment

dont use system restore of XP .. it would fuck it up worse ;) since youcould set the virus back to stage 1
and use some online scanners microhouse e.g.

I did spybot in safe mode before and I got 2 things and I removed them, but my computer still wasn't running right. now all of a sudden its working fine. very odd. but that you all for the help, I'm still scanning it with AVG to be sure.I can resist everything except temptationComment
