    Expired domain legality question

    Okay, some of my "competition" wrote a program VERY similar to one I had written quite some time ago. I was pretty pissed for a while but got over it. I never did take any kind of action against them except for a maybe nastygram or two.

    I was just browsing a list of expired domain names and lo and behold there they were. Expired TODAY! Needless to say, I registered the fucker QUICKLY! Their domain name is not a brand name or company name but rather a generic programming name that they can't tademark. Is there any legal reason why I could not redirect their old domain to my site? Except for being a tad unethical I can't see any reason why I shouldn't. Business is business after all.

      Why don't you try redirecting it to my domain, and I'll get back to you if I run into any problems.

      Heh.. I'm no lawyer, but if it's not a trademark, then your only issues might be who you registered it with. Netsol has that dispute policy they could call you on.. but nothing legal though.
      SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

              It's no different than any other domain name you register.. If there's no trademark questions involved, then you're good to go with it. Redirect the Hell out of it..
