90 cops, 3,000 stoned kids . . . . I would want air support and dogs too

Raves suck, mostly there to do drugs I've been to them. You can't say shit about it you weren't there. Don't say it's mostly fun to listen to music. No thats not why it's called a rave. Believe me I've been to them in my 'trying to be cool days'. They are the hippies of the next generation and mostly everyone is cracked out on some kind of drug. Fuck raves.

woj 08-22-2005 01:24 AM

GatorB 08-22-2005 01:26 AM

Raves have been raided long before 9-11...

You originally stated that all needed docs were obtained and yet the 250 or more per gathering was not obtained. That is the FIRST document a promoter of any caliber should obtain. It is standard for just about ANYWHERE in the US to require one! (with different variations on the number of people)

Raves are often full of drugs and I haven't been to one yet that was drug free. Most of the raves I've attended sold drugs to the attendees or had a deal worked out with a dealer to provide them at a percentage.

Children under the age of 18 are common at raves and are the most likely to overdose or become incompacitated.

Inappropriate groping is extremely common at raves and is the most often complaint by women I've attended raves with.

If you are going to sit there and say that I am wrong you are a fucking moron or are just lying to serve your own agenda!

Now... I am not saying raves should be illegal. I am going to say that they should have age limits and that they should be more strict on drug use on the premisses of the venue (including the parking lot).

Rave producers who take steps to handle these problems don't get shut down. PERIOD and END OF STORY!

Wow.... so from the looks of this thread most of you pornographers feel like that was a justified use of power because teens were doing drugs????? I just really don't know what to say about that.

Wow... you would have sucked to have at any of our parties when I was a teen..... and NO we didn't rape and have guns, but I don't think they did either.

I hate how all the baby boomers lost the true values of life they learned in the 60's.

Oracle Porn 08-22-2005 02:46 AM

dude your friend is making an acid party...obviously it can't happen in your state....
open air parties are the hardest to keep open.....lots of legal reasons...

It was verified that more than 250 individuals were at the party, in violation or county statutes and by 11:30 pm law enforcement personnel moved in to curtail and disburse the party. During this process at least 60 arrests were made for weapons offenses, DUI, illegal underage consumption of alcohol, possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of ecstasy, distribution of ecstasy, resisting arrest, assault on a police officer, and disorderly conduct.

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time

robfantasy 08-22-2005 03:07 AM

its one thing to disperse a gathering of people

its another to unleash dogs, beat people and stick guns in peoples faces when they arent even commiting a crime

Hell, we're on the same page here. Sure, I don't agree with some of the draconian mandatory minimums for drugs, but if you're fucking around and end up in the federal pen, ya'd better accept your fate. That's the bed ya made. That's not really what I was saying at all.

I just don't agree with that show of force to break up some teens doing drugs, having sex, and dancing..... or the huge waste of resources used for that when our borders are wide open just waiting for terrorists to cross over with the guy that mows my lawn. Or the money could have been used to help protect our food supply which is ripe for terrorist attack. Or use the money for just about anything but swooping down on a crowd of teens with helicopters and dogs to get the 60 bad apples.

Sorry, I'll pipe down now.... I'm just a godless liberal that should learn my place and toe the line.

Exactly.

If those cops hadn't of been playing soldier and had dressed and acted like policeman instead of thugs the whole event probably would have been dispersed without incident.

Just what was the purpose of wearing combat fatigues to disperse a group of concert goers?

Were they cops? Or where they using Army reserves as back up? I don't think cops dress in camo even if they are doing swat stuff.

swat has tatical gear, nation guard comes in for crowd controls in events such as this..

Ok these promoters were stupid, They had the permits but they didnt report to local police that they had this event planned? Maybe these hop heads should talk to some big event promoters where BIG named bands play and ask how many fucking permits they have to obtain and how many places they have to contact to make sure it sits ok.
