Producing porn is not about speed, it's about producing a fantasy.

I've a fully equipped studio, 3500 sq ft, 20 settings, 15 studio flash heads, 4 studio staff two of whom can shoot sets to the value of $10,000 with no problems.

We don't produce porn at this speed and don't think anyone can. You might be able to achieve it with three shooters and three models. But one model will soon tire and start to go through the motions.

One of the problems I see with you is how little you really know about producing porn. For you it's a race, the one who shoots the fastest is the winnner. For me it's about producing the fantasy. There are many different fantasies but that's another story.

To produce the fantasy generally we rely on the contact between the shooter and the model, look at most good pornographers and they usually are with females, they attract them.

We need the look in the girls eyes to say something to the viewer, to stimulate his imagination, to wet his appetite for more. This is done not by shooting at speed and continually. The model will be fine for the first sets, then start to tire, then lose interest and eventually will end up resenting the shooter.

This will come out in the pictures, capturing the connection between model and shooter. This applies to brand new models and seasoned professionals, in fact with the experienced girl she will usually start on auto pilot and need pulling into the work.

You still think speed is the essence of good porn, so fine. Those clients who want their porn shot fast and loose are happy to buy from you. Those who want something with a little more thought are happy to come to me.

As for what you earn well here you truly reveal your lack of knowledge of how this business works. A magazine set is sold by country and 1st or 2nd rights. The US pays $1500 to $3000 for 1st rights, the UK pays $1,000 to $2400, then there are Europena countries, Australia, Japan and finaly we give it to a photo broker who produces further sales.

This market is tough and unforgiving, people in it are well rewarded and the compatition is rife. But sets like these sell to the top magazines for top money.

This set has earnt us $6,000 so far from two magazine sales. Took us as long as it did to shoot your 6 sets for $1800. We still own the rights and will continue to sell it because we will never sell it outright.

You work for $300 and that impresses you, I work for a little bit more. Not that I'm against shooting crap, we shoot READERS WIVES for some magazines, they pay $50 a shot and usually use 4 pics, again we sell these to different magazines and the Internet so earn a little than $300 a set. I honestly doubt any custom shooter makes the money we make, then few invest what we do.

I am only pointing out the flaws in your statements. If you had the knowledge you would not make them. No one would boast about how fast he could shoot a porn set, it's like telling your potential clients you are slip shod and slap dash. Would you hire a man to even paint a wall based on the speed he boasts he can paint or the pride he takes in his work?
