Is the movement to SOFTCORE good for the porn industry?

So we can finally bid adieu to the days of toilet seats strapped around women's necks and some of that other perverted gonzo shit.

This is a much-needed rest from the negative and disturbing images of women often found on the 'net throughout the nineties and earlier this century.

It's a relief to see the leaders in content production move to a less provocative style and embrace artistic merit rather than just a meat-on-display approach.

It's great if you know how to use it.

Works for us.

I think the over the top stuff with the excuse its fantasy is not good for the industry but most dont care and are not long term thinkers. Creativity takes work .

I am not sure if we will see a long term lasting effect of softcore. Figure most of us in light of the recent 2257 changes ran around in the US updating just about anything we had to make usre we complied....but will that trend really be a true trend across the board in the whole world? Well....I think at the end of the day....we all find ourselves looking at the competitive landscape...what is converting, what isn't...stay within the legal lines so we have long term success.

This really isn't anything new....everyone remember about 5 years ago when the tgp2's were going to change the industry. lol.....I don't hear anyone talking about that anymore. At the end of the day...this is a competitive business. More and more.

I think what is more interesting is that I don't think this is a "movement" that the consumer is asking for, but more of a restriction that certain gov and status quo have put down on us. If you could promote a site that was about "X" two years ago, but today no billing company will touch it....Sadly...that niche still has an audience that wants "X" ..... If a law has changed in someone's local area that makes certain content illegal...then that is still not the consumer.....I think all of us that have been here for the long term know....that we are in a world of constant change and evolution. If you stay still too long, you will not be around next year.

So I am not sure if going softcore is really a movement per say.

people are looking for provocotive stuff...people want to see hardcore... i think those who will keep providing hardcore stuff will earn most $$$.
As I see it... if americans will go on that softstuff Europe gonna take the lead in the porn industry.
Religion doesn't go with Porn...USA is going deeper and deeper into being a religious country...thank god for Europe.

i think its better to advertise with softcore, softcore tends to get people more aroused to see more, hardcore just gets them off right away, betetr for sales with softcore.

If only porn was as easy as doing softcore or hardcore, getting the right niche or the right numbers. Then all you programmers would be millionaires.

Porn is about delivering a fantasy and not a numbers, niche or catagory game. Lookat he porn and ask yourself if it arouses you, if you think the girl/boy wants to fuck you or is inviting you to join in. This is the essence of 99% of porn.

We sell softcore to the magazines and hardcore to the Internet, the magazines tried hardcore and it mostly did not work, yet the surfer wants hardcore. Both porn consumers yet different tastes, I would think a lot of it is down to the ages of the different groups of consumers.

But if you think moving to softcore on the Internet is the key to success, go for it because it will mean more sales to us. Producing a stiff dick with softcore content is harder than with hardcore content.

Some do it very well, Lightspeed is one, but for most it will not work.
